Is Angel Reese immature? Yes. About as immature as most 23-year-olds. Is the WNBA taking that and stretching it into an agenda for profit? Again, yes.
Putting her on the cover only infuriates the haters. As you can see by this thread, it's working.

NBA2k tries to be as tuned into pop culture as much as it fancies itself as a basketball simulator. Putting Angel on the cover has more to do with them trying to tap into Angel's pop culture status (which is a total waste of time) than it does with Caitlin Clark being a far superior player. Whether you like it or not, Angel is as interested in becoming a pop icon as she is in being a professional basketball player. She's somehow parlayed bricking jumpshots into more IG followers than Caitlin. 2k isn't interested in Angel athletic abilities. They want the publicity that comes with her, such as her 5 million Instagram followers.

You have one woman, Caitlin, who is primarily focused on basketball, and another, Angel, who goes out of her way to be a part of pop culture. Stop being obtuse. I'm pretty sure you understand how that can lead to Angel having a larger social media following.
