Imagine as a “dominant post player” having half the blocks per game as Clark lol

Is she? I simply went by her shooting percentage. After digging a little deeper, it does look pretty bad.
She takes 9.3 shots per game inside of 5 feet and only makes 4.3 of those. She only takes 11.9 shots per game in total making 5 of those.

scoring 17 PPG on 12 shots isn't bad. she goes tho the free throw line a lot and is pretty solid there.
Clark was at 15 PPG on 11.2 shots for the month.

42.9 percent on shots inside of eight feet. That ranks 39th among the 41 players who attempt at least four shots per game from that range (and Reese is second in the league in attempts per game from that range, at 10.1)
Id say to be 39th out of 41 is pretty bad, especially when that’s what you’re supposed to do as a “dominant post player” and the second best thing on the wnba

Basketball is a beautiful sport and Caitlin brings out all its juicy goodness with her style of game. Today I read that she has generated more points than anyone else in the WNBA this year. That's a complete player, an absolute pistol of a woman.
And she's the most humble player in the league.

were they counting turnovers to the other team as assist points?

They realized most of the turnovers were dropped passes from her teammates.
Caitlin cooks.

She's just not that skilled. Plain and simple. That Twitter video of those girls mocking her playing (rebounding, rebounding, rebounding her own missed shot until she finally scores) is funny but its not terribly inaccurate.
This idea of a rivalry or that she's on the same level of Clark is poppycock and being pushed by the WNBA brass who hate Clark, being pushed by the media especially black female ESPN pundits....
Reese plays like every other unskilled tall WNBA player before her....not exciting and missed layups. This myth of "oh, we got Magic vs. Bird" is a marketing campaign and an insult to Magic.

Reese could break the rebounds avg/game record.
Sylvia Fowles 11.88

It may not be as pretty to watch but it's still effective. Did you forget she beat Clark in a national championship game?
Reese is scoring 14.1 PPG on 11.9 Shots
Clark is scoring 16.1 PPG on 12.5 Shots
It's the rebounding where Reese is killing it, leading the entire league in rebounds is pretty damn important.

why would you not knowing ball bother me? She won player of the week and rookie of the month. the people that know basketball can see how good Reese is.
obviously if all you care about is 3 pointers you will like Clark's game more. She plays a lot like the modern NBA jacking up a lot of threes and it is more efficient. Most people enjoy watching Curry over Embiid

Anything is more efficient than this garbage lol:

Oh, that UConn mafia argument that Geno and Taurasi spout. Clark dragged a bunch of high school non-WNBA players to TWO National Title games beating South Carolina and LSU in back-to-back Final Fours.
She didn't play on an All-Star team....No high-profile paid transfers. Clark had no behemoths to get every rebound after missed shots like South Carolina and LSU. Her team had to play with extreme skill and make their first attempt. Media is being disingenuous and agenda driven, fans are being homers pumping another average tall girl who frankly acts classless.
And when LSU beat Iowa, Reese scored 15 points. Clark scored 30 points and she wasn't 2 feet from the bucket, taller than everyone. This "oh, she didn't win a championship" Jerry West didn't either until he got Wilt and he was the best player in the League even winning Finals MVP on the losing team. .So c'mon....watch Reese play and take off the glasses. I don't see what's special about her but muh rebounds.... Yeah that's her job. She doesn't run point, handle the ball, control the game with the ball in her hands, facilitate, etc. She gets passed the ball in the paint and after a few misses, she gets a put-back. That's just reality.

you don't see what's special about leading the league in rebounds with 12 per game as a ROOKIE playing less minutes per game than all the other girls that can even get 10?
Reese is just gonna get better and better, her FG% is above 52% this month so far and she is averaging 4 more PPG than last month when she won rookie of the month.
Posted on 7/9/24 at 8:50 pm to mizzoubuckeyeiowa
Everytime I read these threads I remember Caitlin almost had 41 pt triple doubles in the Final freaking Four against both LSU (elite 8) and undefeated South Carolina.

And yet she’s still DOGSHIT within 8ft
Maybe the most dominant inside player in the world will learn to hit those post shots lol
