Why stop there? Just sit out all of college and make your money at the combine amirite? Injuries happen in regular season games too

If the University is larger than the player then why whine about a few potential NFL draftees? I don't get it.

Most of these elite p5 Universities have hungry 4/5 stars as back ups & they whine about these players opting out.

aybe more 4/5 stars should consider SWAC/ MEAC since they develop 1 & 2/3 stars like Leonard, Javon Hargrave, Tarik Cohen, Aeneas Williams, Strahan , etc

They have hundreds of players a year who don’t turn out like that and you listed a handful of guys over a 20 year period

They aren't recruiting 4/5 stars you frigging idiot , but somehow a crappy MEAC team turns out an " undeveloped " NFL defensive rookie of the year. I could have given you dozens of more players that they can't develop like Jake Reed , Steve McNair ,etc....

Somehow the NFL found them without TV & the superior P5 development We can go back further & see how J State, Morgan State, SU, Grambling has more NFL Hofers than the vast majority of p5 schools. Stop pretending that P5 are creating / developing these players.

McNair was a known commodity when he started lighting it up at Alcorn.

It’s almost like these stud athletes still attended schools pre-integration.

A known commodity like Travis Hunter? ( not that sought after) . Yet McNair went to a "crappy SWAC conference", against crummy competition that can't develop talent because White schools weren't interested in him as a QB. My point stands...Arrogant p5 schools think they are creating NFL players which is beyond absurd.

How did Darius Leonard ( NFL Defensive ROTY) develop playing against crummy SWAC/ MEAC talent & SC State send half a dozen players to the NFL within the past 6/7 years? These schools ( HBCU) aren't recruiting thousands of 4/5 stars like p5 schools.

Thanks. You agree that the preposterous notion that p5's are " developing" these NFL players is ridiculous.

No shite you fricking idiot. You're going back 20+ years and picking a few diamonds in the rough that have panned out yet excluding thousands who did not. Hell, UGA has had more 2/3 stars make it in the draft than the examples you've given in the same time frame

I could have given you dozens of more players that they can't develop like Jake Reed , Steve McNair ,etc.
And you gave 2

I'm not saying that all. Only that you are giving a few examples out of thousands that have worked. The odds seem better for them at a P5 school.

So he hasn't been " developed " at a P5 school like Florida against elite competition?
Darius Leonard from the crappy MEAC/ SWAC was NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in the NFL & 2x ALL Pro. Beasting in the NFL from day one despite the inferior SWAC/ MEAC competition & " inferior development "( rolls eyes).

Maybe more 4/5 stars should consider SWAC/ MEAC since they develop 1 & 2/3 stars like Leonard, Javon Hargrave, Tarik Cohen, Aeneas Williams, Strahan , etc.....without recruiting the same level p5 Players ?

sheesh can’t argue with that logic.

So you’re arguing that a player doesn’t develop better at a P5 school better than he would at Grambling?

Man, you’re not a bright guy.

In his defense, Shorter tried his hand at that out of HS.

He transferred to the SEC.

And just like that, #4 for the Gators, carted off the field. by go ahead make my day
but muh, da team.

If you are NFL worthy I wouldn't play unless in the playoffs

Why even the playoffs??? Still only get a grab bag and a rah rah speech, except you can say it was a playoff speech.

By your logic, just play enough to up your NFL stock then pack it in.

Why risk it???

Undeveloped " HBCU players like McNair, Jake Reed , Jimmy Smith , Greg Lloyd, Nate Newton, , Ashley Ambrose, Yancey Thigpen, Jacoby Jones, Justin Durant, Howard Ballard, Andrew Glover, Aeneas Willians, Strahahan, Jerry Rice, Shannon Sharpe, Rodgers Cromartie, Hugh Douglass, Everson Walls, Albert Lewis, Tyrone Poole, Antoine Bethea , Bennie Thompson, Robert Porcher , Nick Collins, Ben Coates, John Taylor, Tavaris Jackson, Donald Driver, Robert Mathis, "Undeveloped " 2018 NFL Defensive ROTY( Leonard), Tytus Howard, Terron Armstead, Fakir Brown, Tarik Cohen, Brandon Parker, Trenton Cannon, Ryan Smith , Erik Williams(Cowboys) , Rashard Mathis, Javon Hargrave, etc..... Just 1 or 2 " diamonds in the rough"

Despite being shut out from the 3-5 star athletes that p5 schools think as their personal property today. I mentioned none of the Hundreds of HOFERS/All pros/ Pro Bowlers pre 1980. And I know I missed a couple dozen active & former HBCU players.

Dude, half those guys you listed were drafted more than 20 years ago. Your argument is they can get it done today and no one is saying they can’t. I’m saying the odds aren’t nearly as good as you’re making it out to be. In the last 20 or so years you’ve listed a dozen or so players who have made it out of tens of thousands of players. That’s not a great ratio.

This is the same kind of logic that shut down the economy because of a virus.
