I guarantee you that pitcher cares a lot more about his ERA than he did about Pujols hitting number 700. And wasn't it a three run homer? No way any pitcher is giving that up on purpose. This wasn't Cal Ripken being thrown a tee ball by Chan Ho Park in the All-Star game.
Give Pujols his due. It's a big accomplishment, and he earned it.

I realize Albert is up there in age, but damn if he shouldn’t consider hanging on to take the overall record from Bonds.
He has no chance at that unless he played for 3+ more seasons. If he came back, he could realistically pass Ruth though.

I’d dh for three more seasons then.

Albert is not going to do that, even for one season. This has been the perfect farewell tour.

Three road games left. And two or three playoff games if they lose in the wildcard

I realize Pujols is 87 years old, but if they let him continue this new roid regiment for another year and a half, he'll break Bond's record.

Even more impressive given he's 62.

Growing up in the Midwest, hearing the call on KMOX is only fitting.
