The Yankees looked terrible in the last two games; I think they need to sweep Texas (and they should). They needed to go 8-2 between MIN/BAL/CLE/TX - at best, they go 7-3. I still think the Yankees make it because Judge has one more run in him.

Man it is going to be awesome when the Dodgers lose the wildcard game.

They’ll just pitch Max and win the game. He’s been filthy since he’s been with them

Scherzer and Wainwright would be good stuff in a one game do or die

Who would SF start in the wild card game?

STL actually might have an advantage cause they can likely set it up where Wainwright pitches the WC game. If SF/LA are battling for division title on last weekend (seems likely) then what if it’s Max’s turn on the final Saturday or Sunday of the regular season?

Then you start Max. It would be wise of LAD to make sure one of Scherzer or Buehler are available to start a WC game.

you pitch who you gotta pitch to give yourself the best odds at winning the division

either way scherzer is going to be lined up for the WC game. unless something weird happens he isnt lined up to pitch the final weekend

I have no idea how they are lined up currently but I’m guessing they want Gausman or Webb pitching that game

Missourian wouldn't like to see this since Scherzer is from St. Louis and went to Mizzou!

Yankees still look like shite, Indians just demolished the Yankees. Yankees will probably lose 2/3 to the Rangers and finish 4-5 on the year and out of the playoffs

Rizzo may be the better fielder but Voit right now is the better hitter right now

How good are the prospects the Dodgers gave up for Scherzer? And will they ever run out of prospects to trade for other team's stars?

Update heading into the weekend. Just 10 days remaining in the season

-Cards continue to be red hot and the NL field looks all but settled outside of who wins the NL West and possibly the NL East with a Braves/Phillies series looming ahead next week
- Red Sox with a good week giving them a little cushion atop AL Wild Card
-Seattle sweeps Oakland and likely ends the A’s chances of making postseason. Mariners only 2 games back

YUGE 3 game set this weekend at Fenway between the Sox and Yanks. Boston winning that series would put them in great position to win the top wild card spot

Why was I thinking the wild card game was a best of 3? or was that just last year? Is booze taking over my memory?

Last year was weird with a lot more teams making postseason than normal

That was just last year... also had 8 playoff teams from each league instead of 5 last year.
