Funny you mention Brown--one of the coaches Pop defeated in a Finals head to head.
Spoelstra beat Pop once head to head. What’s your point?

That’s an absolutely insane statement. You don’t know much about the 90’s Knicks and Pacers, do you?
The Knicks who had Patrick Ewing and then John Starks as their second best player, CBA John Starks. That Knicks team?
And Pacers had Reggie Miller and who? What HOFer teammates did he have?
You think those teams compare to 2014 Spurs? Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Kawhi, Pop?
I grew up in MJ's era. That's how I know how much people romaticize the level of competition then.

Largely due to a Herculean effort from James that MJ would not have been able to muster vs. that Spurs team.

I guarantee you that Jordan, Bosh, and Wade wouldn’t have lost to the Mavericks.
LOL Wade and Jordan are the same type players on both ends of the court, someone needs to occupy the facilitator role like LeBron did during that time with The Heatles D-Wade and Mike are too ball-dominant ball stops with them

He would’ve shot the ball more than 13 times and put up more than 23 points lol
Oh shite, my bad. Just saw who I was replying too. Forgot you don’t care you just here having fun

He may be the most physically talented person to ever lace em up, but he’ll never be the competitor, winner, and leader that MJ was.
Where did MJ lead his teams when he didn't have Phil or Pip?
Oh yea. Nowhere.

Lol at you if you think Jordan wouldn’t have done that last night

Dude he shot 26% and scored 22 points in a crucial as frick game against Seattle In the finals
Your blanket statement is asinine and lazy

He had to beat them to get to the finals. The Pistons, Knicks, Celtics and Pacers were brutal and filled with Hall of Famers
I’m going to bring facts into this, so bare with me. Can’t wait to hear your hyperbolic retort.
The Pistons teams MJ beat in his championship seasons had 3 HOFers in Dumars, Rodman, and IT. He beat the Pistons once in route to a title. That’s 3 total HOF.
The Knicks had two HoF in Ewing and one year of Mo Cheeks (who is an incredibly weak HOF player. He was a 4x all star for his career, averaged 11.1/6.7/2.1 steals for his career. But alas). He beat the Knicks 4 times in route to a title. That’s 5 total HOF.
He also beat the Pacers once in route to a title. They had Reggie and Mullin. Two total HOF.
He literally never beat the Celtics in route to a title. That’s 0 HOF. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug though, and his accomplishments and the teams he beat sure do look a lot better when viewed through it.

Why is it that everyone is so adamant that MJ is far and away the goat, yet EVERYONE is constantly having to validate that opinion?
The fact that there's 47 threads on here every day telling us why MJ is better than LBJ is telling.

How many garbage teams did my take to the finals? ZERO. All the arguments you brilliant people make are about teams and not individuals. Ledouche is bigger, stronger, and faster. Only idiotic, mental slaves are unwilling to accept ledouche is better.
Let's see, Lebron's playoff career:
Year 1 - no playoffs
Year 2 - no playoffs
Year 3 - out in 2nd round
Year 4 - swept in finals
Year 5 - out in conf finals
Year 6 - out in conf finals
Year 7 - out in 2nd round
Year 8 - lost to Mavs in the finals
Year 9 - finally wins a title
As opposed to MJ
Took his team to the playoffs in Year 1. Year 2 (broken foot/ no playoffs). Back to the playoffs in Year 3. Champion in Year 6
Posted on 6/9/18 at 5:03 pm to League Champs
MJ was able to take a 40 win team to the playoffs
But yeh, the east was deep
ETA: A 30 win team I mean

Taking this one step forward, since MJ had to go through a gauntlet of HOF to get to the finals which apparently makes up for playing significantly weaker finals competition. Looking at the championship seasons for both and the amount of HOF beaten:
Bulls 90-91 path:
Knicks - 2 (Cheeks and Ewing)
Sixers- 1 (Barkley)
Pistons - 3 (Rodman, Thomas, Dumars)
Lakers - 2 (Magic & Worthy)
Bulls 91-92 path:
Heat 0 HOF
Knicks 1 (Ewing)
Cavs 0
Blazers 1 (Clyde)
Bulls 92-93:
Hawks 1 (Nique)
Cavs 0
Knicks 1
Suns 1 (Barkley)
Bulls 95-96:
Heat 1 (Zo)
Knicks 1 (Ewing)
Magic 1 (Shaq)
Sonics 1 (Payton)
Bulls 96-97:
Bullets 0
Hawks 1 (Mutombo)
Heat 1 (Zo)
Jazz 2 (Stockton&Malone)
Bulls 97-98:
Nets 0
Hornets 0
Pacers 2 (Reggie and Mullin)
Jazz 2 (Stockton and Malone
Totals- 16 HOF through East. 9 in finals. 25 total. AVG HOF per year (6 title years)= 2.67 in East. 1.5 per Finals. 4.1 Total per year
Heat 2011-2012:
Knicks 1 (Melo)
Pacers 1 (Paul George)
Celtics 3 (KG, Allen, Pierce)
Thunder 3 (Harden, KD, Russ)
Heat 2012-2013:
Bucks 0
Bulls 1 (Butler)
Pacers 1 (PG)
Spurs 4 (TD, Kawhi, Parker, Manu)
Cavs 2016:
Pacers 1
Celtics 0
Raptors 0
Warriors 3 (Klay, Steph, Green)
Note: I used this link for the active players. LINK
Anyone considered 40-60% or greater was included as a HOF
Totals: Through East 8. Finals 10. Total 18. Averages per title run - 2.67/East. 3.33/Finals. 6/year total
TLDR FINAL COMPARISON
In MJ’s 6 title runs he played 2.67 HOF in the East per year. Lebron played 2.67 HOF per year in the East as well, during his 3 runs. Wash
MJ played 1.5 HOF/yr in the finals and 4.1/yr for the entire playoffs in his run. Lebron played 3.33 HOF/yr in the finals and 6/yr total for his runs.
Those are stats though. Not lazy assertions that MJ has a much tougher road daunted with HOF, based solely on assumptions. Not sure if that kind of thing interests you.

It will likely be ignored. It’s quantifiable and verifiable data. It doesn’t have subjective buzzwords like “heart” or lazy conclusions without context like 6-0>>>3-6. Likely doesn’t belong on this board for that reason.

Holy shite, look at this.
Got taken to the brink by a Knicks team with Ewing and spare parts, and Cavs with no HOFers took two from him. He had a 67 win team mind you.
He should've run through these guys damn near undefeated.

Lebron is 3-6 in finals. Leave MJ out of the discussion. Disrespectful to mention lebron with MJ

That was a good Knicks team head coached by Riley and included X-Man McDaniel and Mark Jackson at the end of his Knicks run in addition to the other guys and a good Cavs team with great players too but that Bulls team was too dominant that season to be extended so far in the East playoffs particularly with MJ at his apex as an athlete and player, I mean hell the next year's Bulls team striving for the 3peat made quick work of the East playoffs, the 92 Bulls are still a great all-time team but they would've been much higher on the list had they not been extended so far those playoffs

Jordan loses well before the finals with the Cavs roster this year.
