The Broncos have actually been one of the best teams in the NFL at limiting long passes this season. Champ getting beat like this is more an aberration. I just don't think he has the straight line speed to stay with Smith. NE doesn't have a guy like that though.

I realize he was mistaken, but I stand by my assessment that it likely would have still been a touchback, since they ended up kicking off high rather than deep. At any rate, the officials had been pretty biased the other way, spotting Baltimore 7 with the missed PI call.

The Pats big glaring weakness on D seems to be giving up long passes too, and I'm not sure if Manning has the arm strength to really take advantage of that. Not a good matchup for Denver at all IMHO

that was obviously short, but ref just signaled first down. Harbaugh almost lost it.
