Everyone has the right to be on whichever side of this issue they want. But one side is against denying people equal legal rights and the other is for it. That's just a fact.
Actually there are three sides to this issue:
1.) Those against denying people equal legal rights.
2.) Those that are for equal rights.
3.) Those that just dont give a frick either way and wish that people would focus on more important issues in our country.

Holy shite. It also could be construed just as it was meant to be, which was that he saw what be did there.
Have you always been this much of a pansy your entire life?

I love my dog. Can I marry my dog??? Not planning to have children with my dog. I will adopt if necessary. Please do not deny me my right to be myself and follow my natural inclination to love my dog! If you don't respect my cholce to love my dog then you are a dogiphobe and you are full of hate!
This is how stupid the gay marriage issue sounds to me.
Next time someone argues for man-man or woman-woman relationship, substitute the word "dog" and watch the fun begin!

No, the next time you should probably avoid the thread all together.

An argument made by the biggest idiots.

Does your dog have the cognitive ability to make informed consent? If so, feel free to marry and frick your dog all you want.

The guy might be an idiot or not. I dont know bc I dont recognize his name.
Anyway, I would HOPE that the point of his post was to show that there comes a time where you have to wonder where does all this equality debate stop? Because first its gay people want equal rights. Ok you grant them that. Then you have polygamists that want to get married to however many people. They feel they have the same right to marry whoever because they loe that person. If you dont allow it then you atr discriminating. Ok so they are granted the right to marriage. And now like the guy said, what about the guy who hasnt found a soulmate but his dog has been devoted to his owner for many many years. If the man supposedly loves the dog do you deny him that right? As crazy as it sounds where does it actually stop?
Full disclosure, I AM NOT in favor of people marrying animals.

Like it was said before, all of the people involved are consenting adults. All do deserve equal rights. I see no problem with granting these unions.
Like it was said before, an animal doesn't have the cognitive ability to make such a decision. A gay person does. Do you see why this comparison is ridiculous?

If a group of 7 consenting adult siblings wanted to marry and procreate you would have no objection?
How about a father marrying his 2 consenting daughters?
If a town of 200 consenting adults wanted to marry you would also agree with that?
Just trying to understand if consent is your only criteria.

Yeah, I would. There's absolutely no reason for me to prevent them.
Bring on the red herrings.

It was an honest question.
I can't help but notice that supporters of gay marriage seem to get defensive very quickly when their ideas are probed to deeper levels. Just spouting off pat catch phrases like 'marriage equality' and 'loving partners' without examining other possible scenarios that could and will likely occur shows a lack of intellectual depth.
Flame away.

Flame what?
I gave you an honest answer that seemed to depart from your preconceived notion of what gay marriage supporters think when it comes to consenting adults and equality. What did you expect? Talk about a lack of intellectual depth.

Your answer didn't surprise me because it is common on this website. Editing your post to imply I was simply throwing out red herrings wasn't needed because that wasn't what I was doing. Not everyone who asks questions is trying to trap others.
And not to derail this massive thread, but I believe the scenarios laid out above could have real adverse genetic and custodial implications for non-consenting individuals tied to those relationships (i.e. children). It seems to me that allowing consenting adults to do whatever they want only works when their actions do not impact those who cannot give consent.

And I happen to disagree with that. I also don't think that allowing gay marriage and polygamy automatically means that straight individuals will opt for marrying same sex partners and many, many more women/men will consent to being co-wives/co-husbands.
