How is COVID to blame for people not watching when almost everyone was clamoring for sports to watch at one point? Does that really make sense? It should have doubled their viewership. Now what has changed? Massive increase in social justice and Marxism awareness and white people are bad shoved down our throats. I tried one ESPN broadcast and haven’t been back and won’t. Maybe you like all of this pathetic pandering but I assure you, most people do not.

This is the same group preaching for everyone to vote when only 20% of them were actually registered. Very few have an opinion of their own

Not surprised at NHL ratings because every sport is being played right now and in August/September people aren't lining up to watch hockey, it's just really out of season. The NHL just wanted to get the Cup awarded, mission accomplished.
The better way to look at this is when normal seasons resume which of these leagues has done serious damage to their brands.

Ehh, some more than others. NHL dabbled in it the first night then mostly dropped it. Even the PGA dabbled a little bit up front then mostly dropped it. The NFL and MLB went a bit further. The NBA has been non-stop from what I've read here because I'm not going to bother watching that.
Raising awareness us one thing, brow beating into submission is another.

Keep telling yourself that. I've watched the NBA and the NFL for decades. Haven't watched the NFL since Kaeperfrick. Haven't watched a minute of the NBA bubble games. Silver sees that this is hurting viewership and is trying to frame the backpedaling as a mission accomplished, moving on sort of thing. It's not going to work.
