And the Big 12- just saw TCU make it to the finals last year. You're adding Utah to that, as well as Cincy in the east. That conference is going to be better than people expect.

Nah

Big 12 is a joke

A bunch of mids. Big 12 is nothing more than a mid-major now

We’re definitely down to a Power 3

they may have actually bought themselves some time, if the GOR thing people have been throwing out is accurate. If adding schools made the GOR void FSU/Clemson may have had an easier out. Taking a little bit of time may give them an opportunity to find a good solution to this whole Florida State thing.

Notre Dame is a joke and it's been quite a pleasure seeing that they don't have as much influence as they think they do. They're trying to salvage the ACC because it means a place for Olympic sports, but mainly because their football team would be boxed in. B1G and SEC teams will have a hard time agreeing for a ND game if they're playing 9-10 conference games.

ND wants the 5 games per season against P4 schools that its current deal guarantees. ND can then continue to fill its schedule with cupcakes and USCw. That will allow it continue use "brand" to get a spot in the CFP if it has an undefeated, 1 loss, or possibly even 2 loss season. Notre Dame is trying to salvage the ACC but it is for its football scheduling arrangement not olympic sports. It would only take long enough for the Big East commissioner to verbally extend and offer to ND for its olympic sports if the ACC fell apart and ND needed a spot for its olympic sports.

They lost 2 P5 schools, added 4, plus 3 of the top G5 teams. They kept their conference champ (that beat the Big 10 champ in the playoffs), and added the 2-time defending Pac 12 champs.

There's nothing "definite" about them downgrading.

Add North Dakota St / South Dakota St - both can hang and beat the lower echelons of P5 football.

Losing modern Texas/OU isn't as big of a blow as you think it is.

Hawaii is a football only only of the Mountain West. It’s a member of the Big West for most of its other sports.

Clearly the Big Ten disagrees

In 2021, OU/TX had the same average numbers of viewers as USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington combined. In a normal year, Texas alone generates more viewers than UCLA/USC combined

Washington was below Kentucky and Indiana

I think the entire Big West is in California and mostly around L.A.

Not holding a vote on expansion =/= voting not to expand. The deadline for members to tell the ACC that they are leaving the conference next year is 8/15/23. That means the ACC has until 8/15/23 to discuss expansion and/or other ways of increasing revenue to keep Clemson and FSU happy before one of them has to put up or shut up for now.
