Smart. Less schools to split the GOR and exit fees when FSU and Clemson inevitably try to force their ways out in the next few years

Supposedly the AAC are now the leaders to take all 4 schools

I still believe the MWC is their best bet.

Yeah you get to play in Laramie but at least you don't have cross country flights for softball.

If the rest of PAC and ACC were smart they would combine to create and Two Coast league. Play each other and the division winners play for conference championship. Rotate the game betwee DC and LA or Miami and LA.

Ummm Nevada over UNLV? You missed by a mile there.

ETA: There's an article out of Reno for christ's sake about how UNLV will go over Nevada and it's not even a question.

I say keep the PAC and try to rebuild it….

Oregon State
Washington state
Stanford
Cal
San Diego State
UNLV
Colorado State

SMU
Tulane
Memphis
South Florida
Navy
Air Force
Rice

Mix of schools with academics, traditions, fan bases and tv markets.

It would be wise to add Fresno and UTSA to that mix for value now and moving forward. I don't think UNLV will ever bring football value. Stanford and Cal would need to swallow their pride and realize that Boise is the obvious play.

Cal
Stanford
SDSU
Fresno State
Washington State
Oregon State
Colorado State
Boise State
---
Air Force
SMU
UTSA
Rice
Tulane
Memphis
USF
Navy

This league would get decent TV money and be positioned to be the No. 4 league when the ACC crumbles.

I would take MWC cities and towns over AAC cities and towns, and it isn't even close.

I don’t get where the idea that the PAC-4 can just expand to replace their losses is coming from. OK, you get continuity with the “history and tradition” of the “conference.” The lion’s share of the schools that created that history and tradition left. The schools that are left are literal afterthoughts in all this. The post-USC PAC-12 commanded no respect with the networks, leading to a deal so bad that the conference functionally dissolved when the schools found out. How on Earth does adding a bunch of MWC schools do anything to change that?

Nah, still 4.

Big 10 and SEC obviously,

then you have the ACC with Clemson, Fla State, the Notre Dame connection, and you have potential with Miami and Va Tech.

And the Big 12- just saw TCU make it to the finals last year. You're adding Utah to that, as well as Cincy in the east. That conference is going to be better than people expect.

Stanford finding out all their National Titles are just paper tigers.

Nobody wants to watch them on TV as a brand.

That's what this comes down to...branding. Conferences know, nobody is stopping in a bar at an airport to watch Stanford unless they're playing Notre Dame.

Cal and Stanford don't sell nationally but to nerd and Title IX enthusiasts. Plus if you want them in your Conference, you have to fund a million sports that nobody watches. They're not worth it, add nothing but take.

Notre Dame is a joke and it's been quite a pleasure seeing that they don't have as much influence as they think they do. They're trying to salvage the ACC because it means a place for Olympic sports, but mainly because their football team would be boxed in. B1G and SEC teams will have a hard time agreeing for a ND game if they're playing 9-10 conference games.

No one cares about any of those programs. Not worth the extra travel.
