Yeah I bet his shitty life decision making like drugs and gangs and guns were all caused by football trauma.

Nothing to do with his upbringing and his choice of friends.

this.

Was this the brain study sought by his family and legal team to prove that the NFL owes them some money? Seems legit.

Shhhhhh. We have a narrative we're trying to craft.

(You can hire an expert to give you whatever opinion you want)

He didn't play long enough to have tons of seizures/brain injuries

Am I supposed to feel bad now? He was a piece of shite regardless.

Yeah, maybe he was dropped a bunch as an infant or something because I don't think anyone ever knew this guy to be anything but a shithead since high school.

No? No one's asking you to.

No one said otherwise.

The thing is, we as humans like to try to understand why someone was a certain way and why they would do something like what he did. Any understanding can help prevent similar situations in the future.

No need to act like a badass.

As for what that could mean behaviorally, Leestma says people with that level of CTE can become impulsive and have “rage attacks.” While Leestma himself has not seen the images of Hernandez’s brain, he speculated that the buildup of tau protein may have led to a disconnection or damage to Hernandez’s frontal lobes, which are associated with impulse control.

Speculated, give me a fricking break, fake news.

NFL owners not going down, you will see new helmets come in to the industry and cut down on concussions. Or the can hire an expert and speculate.

Doesn't necessarily excuse his actions but it's still incredibly sad.

60 years ago they played in leather helmets and nothing covering the face. Somehow there was no epidemic of disease to those players as they aged.

Bigger, stronger, faster...but come on. Leather seats are considered luxurious and soft. I would think the advancement in equipment has outpaced human evolution over 50 years.

A helmet really only keeps your skull from cracking open. It doesn't prevent the brain jarring that results in CTE.

That said, Hernandez was a piece of shite for most of his life so I don't think you can blame his behavior on this.

When was the last time they checked for CTE in a regular dude who died of heart failure at 45?

Nick Buoniconti and family would disagree.
