I have some happy, well adjusted kids that love both me and their mom and each of them were disciplined with spankings when they were younger. But, I am not fit.

If you read "spanking" when I said "hitting", you have guilt issues. Popping a kid on the arse when you need to get his attention isn't what we're talking about here.

Maybe this love of beating kids will finally unite rednecks and the black community in peace and harmony.

Good for them. If they come forward, it proves that they are more worried about the safety of their children than they are about their child support checks. I mean that with all sincerity, and it is probably the reason they've stayed quiet for this long.

Could possibly be the other way around as well, they aren't getting their checks so they're gonna destroy him. (Troll Theory #11390143 from...FACEBOOK!)

Either way, he's an idiot to think its not excessive.

Hitting a kid on the head and disciplining a kid to the point they bleed are just idiotic.

A single smack on the arse would be enough if they aren't listening to your raised voice.

Usually I am not one to side the athlete baby mamas but you are correct here.

I used to like AP but he has no business being a father. I pondered that when he said he didn't even know the kid that passed away was his until a month or 2 before. Made me wonder how many more were out there. The past week just confirms that

Good day to be an Adrian Peterson baby mama. Bad day to be an Adrian Peterson son.

And this garbage doesn't "toughen them up". It teaches them a new norm. If you constantly use yelling as a way to get your kids to obey, they are not going to respond to anything from you except yelling (I'm not talking about occasionally losing your cool). If you use physical abuse, that's the only thing that will get their attention, and that's how they'll treat other people.

Dude is going to jail, the DA is going to use this against him in the current case

quote:

The text messages also describe an exchange about what happened. They contain numerous misspellings and shorthand:
Mother: "What happened to his head?"
Peterson: "Hit his head on the Carseat."
Mother: "How does that happen, he got a whoopin in the car."
Peterson: "Yep."
Mother: "Why?"
Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self."

The text messages go on to show Peterson saying he was disciplining his son for cussing to a sibling. "It's absolutely criminal," said Randy Burton, a former chief prosecutor of family crimes in Harris County, and founder of the advocacy group Justice for Children. "You break the skin, you have bleeding, much less permanent scars, that is a crime," Burton said. But no charges were ever filed. Sources confirm the mother filed a report with Child Protective Services, but the outcome of any CPS investigation is unclear.

So is the method of the delivering the wound, according to the text messages.

Mother: "What did you hit him with?"
Peter never directly answered, but later replied: "Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the scare (scar). He aight (all right)"

"This is very damaging information," Burton said. Damaging, Burton said, because prosecutors in Montgomery County can use it as evidence in the felony case against Peterson.

yep, it's a slippery slope. Resolution through violence is a terrible lesson to teach your children.

Peterson is also a christian and advocate for raising money/awareness for child-abuse.

Reports said he could have up to as many as 7. Some of the kids he's never even met.

I've seen this in a couple of posts. Not sure what it means relative to this issue.
