Good for this kid

"Michael Forrest, the respected senior guard for Florida Atlantic University, wasn’t available for Tuesday’s post-practice interviews with the rest of his Final Four-bound teammates.

Due to an unfathomable set of circumstances, Forrest, a 6-foot-1, 174-pound mechanical engineering major, only attended the first 30 minutes of Tuesday’s two-hour practice.

He had to leave because, get this, he had to attend class.

Who does that?

Who misses a Final Four practice to attend class?

And what kind of coach allows that to happen?

“We told Mike and his parents from Day One,” FAU coach Dusty May said, “if he wants to be an engineer we’re going to support him as long as he puts in the work and does everything.”"

Scene cuts to UNC Admissions Director: "We've actually created classes calaculated to ensure you don't learn anything. Also, so it isn't an NCAA violation, all students are allowed to take them."

People act like that was some major story when:

-it was a 1 hour PE class. When I was at uga I took racquetball. Some people took golf or bowling. There was actually one called "walking". You literally just walk the track.
-it was open to any student on campus not just athletes.

Still blows my mind we were practically given the death penalty for it

Engineering as a basketball player is very impressive.

SDSU has 3 players with 3.8's or higher, but none are in Engineering.

That is a true student-athlete.

I mean that's not the whole story, but okay. Jim Jr was giving A grades to players on the team who never attended his class.

Tony Elliott (UVA and Clemson football coach) studied Industrial Engineering while playing at Clemson. His first job was at a Michelin plant where he eventually ended up overseeing the entire plant.

Not everyone goes to the nba. His dream was to be an engineer. Good for him and dusty.
