How dumb do you have to be to sign up with your own name for an account. I am assuming the betting sites gave them the names.

I was listening to a radio show a few weeks ago that read the rules -- I think these guys can bet on things other than NFL outside of facilities. So, I think they are getting pinched placing bets in the locker room or whatever. How is that not hard to follow?

Couple of the guys who have been suspended were betting on NFL games, but we’re on IR or different games than one they play for

The league had to expect this when they went all in on the gambling partnerships and advertising. Still dumb to break the rule but the league opened this door and is mad at the debris coming in from it

Have you met many athletes?

What's crazy is the average career is so short, and the money is more than they'd make in any other field, ever.

Just don't do stupid shite for 5 years. Retire. Then do stupid shite.

I already said that. There’s more intelligent ways to have this discussion that just “demz da rules” just like the discussion on weed suspensions while that was a thing. Rules can both exist and be criticized in the same space

The league opened this Pandora’s box by getting cozy with the casinos and bookies. Them wagging the finger at the players for doing what they are spending millions to convince the general public to do comes off similarly stupid. Don’t feel bad for the player breaking the rule but I also don’t feel bad for the league/owners who started this mess in the first place

Is it stupid though? They have an obvious incentive to wag that finger at the players. If they just brushed it off it would be complete chaos.

So, it’s a “let’s make an example of the non-stars” move by the NFL? Typical
