I cannot believe it has already been a year since the last one. This thread is why the Internet was invented.

Where's MBS?

Good question. I was very close to putting them at 10. They have missed the tournament 2 years in a row and were a big time bubble team 2 years ago. That of course has nothing to do with this new crop of 8th graders.

There team is a little undersized from what I have seen of them. They do have a very good chance at making it into the tournament. They actually play St. Francis Xavier in the jamboree which is an early season game that could have some major tournament implications according to the committee.

Unfortunately Holy Ghost no longer is a member of the CSAL.

I'll put $100 on Holy Family to win it all

They square off with CHS in the jamboree. Those 2 have battled for the "Division B" championship the past 3 seasons in some incredible games.

Holy Family will have to handle the CHS Bears size down low, which isn't as much as last year but will be bigger than Holy Family for sure. This is one of the more intriguing jamboree games to keep an eye on.

6. St Thomas More (8)– The Indiana of CSAL basketball is looking to make it back to the Big 10 Championship after a 3 year absence. STM will boast some frontcourt length and size as is typical for the Eagles. They are never shy about taking some chances from beyond the arc and will continue to be a feisty hard-nosed team. They did lose their starting point guard to the CHS 8th grade team, so that is a major hole to fill.

Unlike the NBA, I believe CSAL would not be too thrilled in regards to sports betting on their games.

This is what it was when I was in school.

Holy Family Port Allen
St John Plaquemine
St Theresa of Avila Gonzales
Catholic BR 8th grade
St George BR
St Jude BR
St Aloysius BR
Mercy BR
MBS BR
Sacred Heart BR
St Louis King of France BR
St Alphonsus Liguori Central

St Elizabeth Paincourtville (probably not still in)
Our Lady of Prompt Succor White Castle (don't even know if that school is still open)
Ascension Catholic Middle Donaldsonville
Holy Ghost Hammond

Always top-notch insight! Folks wait all year for this report to come out. With its popularity expanding, maybe BearTiger could provide even more insight into CSAL basketball such as: The best home court advantage/toughest road environment; Best student section; Most reasonably priced concession stands on such items as cokes, chilli dogs, and pickles

That '05 team was lacking a true PG. He shouldn't have taken his talents to CHS.
