How many players drafted were FCS transfers?

Are mid majors having a drop money? Isn’t that what will cause their demise rather than number of players drafted
That is always the last thing to happen. First they have to become absolutely uncompetitive. Then the money starts disappearing as fan interest dwindles.

Wisconsin didn't have a player drafted for the first time since 1978, which is so telling about the state of the program. McIntosh "taking a job with the league office" was the best thing that could've happened for us. He's the new Kevin Warren of "failing upward".

That is the lowest number the sport has seen since 1938.
This should come as a surprise to no one...it's exactly what we knew NIL would do...concentrate all of the talent within the upper echelon of programs.
And somewhere Jay Bilas rejoices.

i liked the tweet i saw that was a quote from an nfl scout or something that basically told an FCS or low major school that there's no reason to go to your pro day or look at your kids, if they were any good, they wouldn't be on your team.

Only 24 players were drafted from non power 4 schools overall. I think only 9 teams outside of the power 4 were represented.
Only 17 players from outside the power 4 were invited to the combine.
This isn't good for the sport
I’m struggling to see why this is a bad thing.
Overlooked players will still have a chance to go play at mid majors, get noticed, and then get to go a larger program and actually prove they can compete at a bigger level.
We just won’t have to pretend anymore that mid majors can compete for championships and instead look at them as the minor leagues for big time college football.

If you look at it from the player angle the last cycle over 10,000 players entered the portal, more than 30% of players ended up without a team. Colleges aren't working on developing players long term and aren't making long-term commitments. Not good for players, not good for the sport.
Soon, you'll see mid majors simply shuttering their programs, further stripping opportunities. And what happens when the "minor league" is simply gone?
It may not be bad for top 25 programs as the money will still flow, but it doesn't take much to see that it overall diminishes the game broadly and damages player opportunity.

magine all of those James Madison players that Coach Cignetti wouldnt have been able to bring to Indiana under the old rules
a 0 star , or 1 star recruit can work his arse off at a JUCO, FCS or D3 school and start at Auburn next season. in the past, he wouldve been stuck.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing is wrong with it if you want college football to just be another professional football. The current transfer portal rules have just created a free agency for college football and it's awful. The NIL and transfer portal has killed almost all loyalty to a school, part of what made CFB great. Novbody plays for pride in their school anymore, they just want to play for who pays them the most and even if you pay me the most if you don't start me I'm transferring. And will do so with no penalties.
You'd have to be walking around with blinders on to not see the issues with the transfer portal. The sit out a year rule was a great rule, getting rid of that and mixing in the NIL was a recipe for disaster for CFB,
