Of course it's possible. If just say they had been partying with alcohol and or drug's then the three friends possibly went out side while the other friend passed out. The three that went out side may have been so trashed that they didn't realize how the body would or could react to certain temperatures. Say one sat down for a minute and then the next one and so on. Depending on how much alcohol and or drug's were in there systems it is very possible that they simply passed out. And unfortunately froze to death. And it's also possible that the friend inside could have known what happened and became so scared that he made up the story about being asleep. Regardless of how this happened it truly was a tragedy. I hope people will pay attention to this story because it could happen again.

“Hey man, it’s gonna be cold out there.”

“No worry bro, we’ll all just drink some of this anti-freeze stuff.”

you very rarely see someone who isn’t guilty and hasn’t been charged hire a lawyer

If 3 people die at my residence and it's being investigated, I'm absolutely hiring a lawyer even if I'm innocent. People have been sued for burglars getting hurt while robbing them and the fiancee is already asking questions. The smartest thing to do is hire legal representation to get ahead of it, and yes even if you're innocent. I would even say especially if you're innocent.

This is a weird arse story but let's not try to imply people are guilty because they hired a lawyer. That's dumb.

Saw on local news tonight that the toxicology report is back on the 3 dead men. They found in their system cocaine , THC and fentanyl.

Yeah, no shite.

You hire a lawyer for a DUI...let alone 3 dead bodies in your backyard.

1) Don't talk to the police

2) Lawyer up

People who fall for the cops refrain, we're here to help you, help us help you...or, if you've got nothing to hide, why are you asking for a lawyer? Are the innocent who get railroaded.

i find it crazy that they already got results back. maybe because this made national headlines?

a coworker of mine passed away on Thanksgiving. he was a drug user unfortunately. we were hoping it was an accidental overdose. they did the toxicology samples in early December.

as of last week when i asked about it they still didn't have any results back.

results were supposed to be 6-8 weeks
Lab Director said they would not be fast tracked, because no one death is more important than another
they came back in four weeks

If i remember correctly, they run the blood sample with Immuno Assay and identify possible contaminants

Then you look for specifics and concentrations on a Mass Spec, an LC or a GC, then validate results with another run or two.

The test run takes a few minutes, what takes so long is the prepping and vetting and validating and checking and approving and all of that jazz so that the results can stand in court as evidence

IIRC Coke and THC are usually run on a GC, I think they use Mass Spec/LC for Opiates now. One of the Med Lab people on here can be more specific

Two arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans who were found frozen in their friend's snowy Kansas City, Missouri, backyard after an NFL watch party more than a year ago.

"After an investigation of nearly 14 months, two suspects are now facing felony charges in Platte County, including involuntary manslaughter, related to the deaths of three Chiefs fans in January of 2024," the Kansas City Missouri Police Department said during a press conference on Wednesday.

Jordan Willis and Ivory J. Carson have been charged with three counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid, according to court records obtained and reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Court records indicate that Carson, who went by "Blade Brown," supplied and sold cocaine to Willis and the victims, and that his DNA was found on a bag of fentanyl.
