Yeah. Maybe not top 10 depending on how you value guys...but at least he's gotta be close.

I'm not sure he is in the top 20.

Can we all agree he was a top 25 All-Time pitcher, with a higher ceiling on certain days than most?

Another reason WAR sucks. Look at the high degree of variance in the values. People have NO IDEA how to rate defense.

if Cy Young in his prime had to pitch from 1997-2005, I wonder what his numbers would be like?

Who the hell knows? What would Ryan's numbers look like in 1900?

I think Fangraphs uses FIP, while BR uses runs allowed.

I dont think i trust any list without Koufax and Gibson.

It is a list of career WAR. Koufax sure as heck didn't pitch long enough. Gibson only pitched 17 years, which is a long time, but I think most of those guys will be 20+.

Gibson is definitely my answer if I could have any pitcher throughout all of history pitch one game with my life at stake. And Rivera in the pen...

Being a better pitcher isnt all about K's. Nolan had a much better headlock and right hook than Johnson.

I definitely wouldn't charge him at the mound.

Plus, he's still got it (3 years ago)

Bob Gibson is the baddest motherfricker to ever toe the rubber. That guy wasn't afraid of anything. He imposed his will on the entire game.

Still not as good as Warren Spahn. Greatest left-handed pitcher of all time with 364 career wins and missed three years to WW2. BTW, Spahn was also a badass who got a battlefield commission to 2nd LT during the Battle of the Bulge.

Well both really, but I did mean 1999. I think 99 was more dominant, only reason for a slightly higher ERA was a hundred point higher BABIP.

I also would take 99 Pedro

Ryan might be the most overrated, Spahn is the most underrated.
