This is one fricking dumb arse format.
Half the cars in the field have no business being called “all stars.”

Y'all member when the All Star race was actually fun?

The all-star race always felt different.
The Open, drivers fighting to get in, the intros. It was unique.
This is no different than your average Sunday race.

I haven’t watched a lap today. Decided to watch the PGA Championship instead. This car is awful at Dover and I can’t think of a worse place to host an All-Star race.

Can’t wait to turn into SiriusXM tomorrow and hear every caller talk about how this was the best AS race yet.

A near ten minute delay because Denny’s car died during the burnout.
Everything about this sucks

I can’t wait for Dale Jr to give his thoughts. One of the few who aren’t scared of being honest.

Lots of sponsor shopping now. Drivers bring a sponsor to a team and basically team kicks current driver out for the rent a car driver with sponsor
You see it in F1 and Indy car also

As will the hosts of the shows.

Right now with almost 1,400 votes its 65% No and 35% Yes (was this a good race)
I thought it was worst ASR ever. You can’t have an all star race and then your all stars aren’t in it. What a stupid concept. A disaster from the start. Some of the drivers don’t even deserve a seat let alone race in it.

Used to be so bad arse.
Pass in the Grass
Waltrip and Rusty Wallace fight
Kyle Petty almost killing Davey Allison
The T-Rex car that was immediately banned
Dale Jr winning his debut
Ryan Newman used to lay down some heater laps
When Sam Hornish Jr showed up with that elite yawed out car
The time they wrecked the whole field and let them go to back ups
Countless other events, and used to bring out the most electric paint schemes.
It's sad what this sport has become. It just has no juice whatsoever.
They've lost me. I only popped into this thread, just cause I haven't seen any NASCAR content in awhile, and I obviously haven't missed much.
I've even unsubscribed from the Dale Jr Download because they've oversaturated it.
Day 1 - 2 hours of recaps that should really take 30 minutes
Day 2 - the interview, which has lost its luster because they've kind of run out of nostalgia farming material
Day 3 - 45 minutes of Dale and his wife BS'ing
Day 4 - 45 more minutes of the highlights from the previous 3 days. Nah, I'm good.

The download has become Mike Davis saying how much shite can we attach Dale to

The racing was fine, the format was bad
Dover should be a points race
Daytona should have speed weeks back
Charlotte should have the all Star race and then a week long NASCAR week of activities before the 600

Justin Marks was talking on SiriusXM with Moody and said the AS race doesn’t really make sense for the teams and the one million dollars isn’t really a lot to these big teams anymore. Said it’s like 2 weeks payroll for Hendrick, Penske, Gibbs etc.
He recommended a few days worth of events like Drag races, pit crew challenge etc instead of the race.

I like the idea of just doing it on Thursday night before the 600. It damn sure doesn’t need to be a whole weekend somewhere else.
The teams want to be home for once, not in fricking Dover for an exhibition.

Lol. So Nascar is only going to use what favors them the most.
This is the problem with Nascar leadership. They want to finagle the ratings to show its better - but they won’t take the shitty ratings to make changes to make the actual racing better.
Its simple economics. Sell a great product and everyone wants it. Sell a shitty product and you have to use a ruse to make it look better.
