Layne ran a perfect race until the final restart with about 10 to go. Chandler Smith wins, Layne gets 3rd and Kaden finishes in 14th. Layne is -20 to KH entering Homestead.

Riggs fricked up taking the inside line on last restart. That was the safe play to avoid wrecking while on outside if inside truck slides up. However you need to win race ro have a chance to win title. And it would be your teammate on inside who likely races hard but not hard enough to wreck you.
That single decision will cost him a title. You can’t play it safe when you are the hunter. Outside lane is your best chance to win you have to go for it. Flat out stupid decision.

Riggs was gifted KH having contact with the 77 relegating him a mid pack finish

Lots of conversation since the Dega race. Some of it good stuff, some of it gibberish.
Let start with the fuel savers. Absolute garbage racing and ALL of the drivers say it but 37 of them clearly went along with it. I was laughing my arse off when BK basically said frick this and tore out.RFK getting a 40 second lead at the "fastest" track on the circuit only highlights the absurdity of it all.
One fix to that is the pit stops. Do away with this **** arse sincle lug and go back to five lug STOCK wheel patterns. That will give them time to fill up the cars and go a long way to eliminating this nonsense.
DO AWAY WITH STAGES. It's supposed to be a 500 mile race, not 3 individual races inside of a larger one. I know they do not want to lose the advertising dollars but they are losing their fan base in the interim.
I'm OK with giving points for leading a lap, but leading more laps should be incentivised. Leading 5-10 laps gets X points, 11-20, gets X points, etc with the most laps getting a nice points bonus, not some 5 point bullshite. Make it worth drivers effort to be aggressive and not just ride around. Every driver would love to build that point cushion to make up for the impending day they get put in the fence.
I'm not smart enough to know the right points format, but a combination of old style that rewarded consistency and the new style that rewarded winning. Someone out there is smart enough to figure it out. I'm not necessarily a "win and you're in" guy because of that rando late race red flag because of rain that rewards a field filler a shot in the Chase for taking a gamble by not pitting. That's not racing.

Also, I gotta say it. I do not for the life of me get the Denny hate around here. He's one of only about 3 drivers with enough nuts to push back on NASCAR's dumb shite. He's put his money where his mouth is with his own team. He's one of the most engaging with the fan base going all the way back to his early days on Twitter when he'd give whole family vacations away to random fans. How many of those other entitled pricks are putting their neck on the line by speaking up.
And to call him a failure because he doesn't have a championship? That is one of the most laughable things I've ever read on here. Bitch please.
Does he take up for that fraud Bubba, yes he does. Bubba is his driver, what else would he do?
Look guys, I'm not even a Denny fan, like I was about KB I'm not a fan but don't hate on the guy when he wins.
And, he's right about the Chevy drivers and Hendrick. No one Ford team has the clout to pull that off, Toyota either.

What do we think this is? Brad obvously has the funding behind him to either outright buy a team or a significant portion of ownership in one. Just reading tea leaves about what's going on with a few teams and knowing what Brad's intent is I'm going to go out on a limb and say Brad buy's into Richard Childress Racing.
The once proud organization has obviously fallen on hard times and most of the time cannot seem to get out of it's own way. Brad has proven he can turn around a legacy team and make them more competitive. Richard is WAY up in years and I'm sure wants to leave those boys a competitive program. Mike Dillon obviously don't know how to right the ship.
Just one man's prediction.

Brad's presser is at 11 and will be streamed on NASCAR.com

Exactly. But he blew it taking inside. What a crazy dumb decision. He woulda be almost tied in points. When I see shite like that I at least know that part wasn’t scripted by Nascar lol. Riggs leader and woulda had a head start on outside. Oh well, one mans pain is another's gain.

I think Brad brings Dodge back and joins up with existing team.
Or Brad retires and goes to the booth

If that's what he wanted to do he could have just stayed with RFK. He clearly wants to drive several more years.

Thats what made Nascar so popular in the old days, fans having different opinions on cars and drivers. I have no love for Hamlin. Je’s been the top Toyota driver forever and chokes away title every year.
He does speak out but with a Toyota bias. And I said it then, no driver should be allowed to own another team. It’s a massive conflict. Imagine Mahommes owning part of Denver. Nascar shoulda made him choose one or other.
And Gibbs allowed it which is stupid. We’ll never know but what if Denny in private tells a 23x driver “look at the undercarriage for speed” and then they find what JGR is doing. The risk of that happening is huge. Amazing how they both had the same advantage all year what a coincidence.
I just don’t like Hamlin he’s a mouthpiece for his team and Toyota. He needs to spend more time trying to win title.
I’d like for you or anyone to point out what HMS has that can be taken away from other teams. Everyone spews this BS yet not one can hint at anything he can take away. Engines are all lotto picked. What else can he do? Chevy doesn’t make any parts for race cars Nascar does. No matter what one thinks of HMS, no one can ever ID anything he can do to hurt another team. Chassis are made by teams. Most components are regulated and parsed out by Nascar. They even put Nascar seals on.
When Denny retires it will be good for the sport. He got too big for his britches when he became a big podcaster. He drowns out other drivers voices and once gone they will be heard more.
Denny has had better equipment/cars for a longer period of time than any driver in Nascar history except maybe Petty and Dale Sr. And he has zero titles to show for it.
I also want to add, it’s Toyota trying to destroy Nascar with the lawsuits from 23x and JGR. Thats bad for the sport. Too much dirty laundry during the 23x suit and then JGR trying to destroy Spire. I hate it.

Riggs left 15 easily attainable points on the table, and you know it kept him up last night. I was pleasantly surprised there were no team orders in that C. Smith didn’t slow his and Ben Rhodes progress allowing Riggs to catch up.
Man, I’m excited about the race today. I think the few remaining will close the gap or overtake Love.
Love’s last few Martinsville finishes have been 37th, 23rd, and 12th. Bristol has been 25th, 12th, and 17th.
Allgaier’s Martinsville finishes have been 3rd, 26th, and 1st with Bristol’s being 6th, 4th and 4th

I agree but am throwing darts at board to cover more bases. Eventually I’ll be right

When does the announcement get made today? I have to believe Brad still has some racing in him and will continue racing. Where? Idk.

10 central time. It may not even be an announcement of plans Maybe he will explain why he left RFK, there was a lot of bad blood there in direction of team.

Just how dominant has Kyle Larson been in the Chase? He could have done the Indy 500, missed the 600 and have to start the Chase at 2,000 and still would be the leader (he has outscored Bell by 79 pts, Briscoe by 89, Logano by 90, Hamlin by 128, Blaney by 137)

Keselowski says he is not making an announcement, that this is just an update ... he didn't want to do something during Homestead so he wanted to update today.

So not much will come to light then?
