Remember when I said the rain metric was bad during playoffs? Well Kyle said the same thing, that it helped him. I understand using it in reg season but once chase starts it handicaps those with a bad last reg season race. And it compounds. They used it 3 races in a row to set lineups.
Another stat. In last 37 races at Vegas the car leading lap 1 has never win the race.
I also think NOAP races being so great are not all car. The drivers are young and risky, take way more chances than Cup drivers.
Beyond winning title, every position in Cup standings is $ value to teams based on how they dish out money end of year. So teams just points race mostly no matter what position. NOAP drivers don’t care about that and race hard.

As much as I bitch about Nascar, it’s way better than F1.
F1 had to pit cars this morning to give them all “software updates”. Yes, the robot car (with one person just riding along and steering) screwed up so they had to halt race for an update. You can’t make this shite up if you tried.

This took out Algier. Jones also lost his 8 stage points. 4 loose lugs is pretty bad. And they even claimed the lugs were tight on radio. Might cost 7 team the title
Matt Weaver
@MattWeaverRA
O'Reilly Series inspection clear.
Brandon Jones' No. 20 was disqualified for four or more lug nuts not safe & secure. He had finished 35th. He's now 36th
Two cars lose pit selection at Charlotte:
92 – Inspection failures
88 – 1 lug nut not safe & secure

The few things that might’ve saved the 7 team last night are Creed not getting any stage points and getting a mediocre finish and Day winning.

Sheldon Creed announced yesterday that he’s leaving HFT for Sam Hunt Racing in 2027. His teammates will be Tyler Ankrum and Dean Thompson. This is a downgrade for him any way you slice it.

He also said it’s the first time he’ll get paid a salary to race. That has to factor in. He’s got a wife and kids and sounds like up to this point he and his family have poured a lot of money into his career.

Really? I didn’t know that, but that makes sense. If you have the time, watch this video discussing the ungodly amount of money that goes into racing.

Great win for the #19 since the Bass Pro CEO was in attendance. I’m glad Larson didn’t win. I’d like this points battle for the championship to be somewhat competitive going forward. Larson needs to have a bad race to really bring some more guys back in it.

Dale Jarret was right. Hamlin should have stayed out to keep Larson a lap down. That yahoo in booth saying run your race lol. No idiot, Larson is your main competition you keep him a lap down.
Hamlin and his team are Keystone cops like. The tire call last year that lost them the title. Not keeping Larson a lap down today. Hamlin wrecking in his own for no reason. Then staying out instead of pitting to work on car in stage 2 early.
They don’t deserve title. All the great cars that 11 team has had over all those years and they constantly choke.
I also found it funny Nascar not throwing yellow when he spun. Booth was clamoring for one lol. But nope, Nascar realized how dumb he was for spinning in his own they decided to hell with it he doesn’t deserve one.
99% of time thats a yellow. But Nascar just laughed at his stupidity.
Larson really raced great. Had a bad car and a long pit stop under green but overcame it. If he wins tittle he earned it. His avg finish in chase is 2.2. Long ways to go though anything can happen. Still have a plate race too.

Dean Thompson is leaving Sam Hunt for HFT. No one knows who Sheldon’s teammate will be.

I’m surprised it wasn’t a caution. I’m not complaining but it was a little odd.
Shoutout to SVG for getting a top ten. Vegas owed him a good result.

Larson gained 95 points in relation to the leader over the first 5 races. Someone else could easily replicate that run, so I think the top 6 are still in it.

Lol Gluck deleted his race poll because it wasn’t going the way Nascar liked is my guess.
He’s a Nascar mouthpiece. I thought the race was ok. Not much passing but thats pretty common these days. I actually voted it a good race because Kyle made it fun at end. But why take it down just let it play out for 24 hours.
My guess is its Vegas and someone had a bet on the poll score lol
So none of his polls are valid then. He was just bragging within the past week how his polls showed increase in likability I guess if you delete unfavorable polls it will show higher.
It’s internet and not to be taken so seriously. He proves how much a mouthpiece he is by removing it. Ain’t no one paying money to distort a Nascar poll lol

Perhaps the intermediate package is finally showing cracks?
Finish was great. But I didn’t find the race was all that great.
Still don’t see the reason Vegas needs two races.

I’m sorry but this is hilarious. I rag on Cup but my goodness this F1 stuff is beyond stupid. Are there still peeps spending money in this artificial sport? Nascar just this weekend produced more racing in the last 2 laps of NOAP and CUP than F1 has in a year.
I still can’t wrap my head around how badly F1 screwed up. And not only the battery car decision, taking it away from ESPN who built the US F1 viewing market and they decided to let Apple have it. A double whammy of dumb. If Nascar ever does this battery racing crap I’m out.

There is no passing because teams have engineered the last drop of advantages out of this crap car.
And no one wants to risk stretching the rules because penalties are too harsh and teams are all about not making waves for sponsors. Don’t want to get caught and give sponsor bad rap.
So the working box is very small. Its just a few normal adjustments at the track, everyone brings the exact same clone car to races because the cage and other specs are just too tight. Tire pressure and wedge is about all you have left.
All of us posting have been screaming from the mountain top for the past few years to increase HP, less downforce, smaller tires (skinnier) which would make better racing.
