Briscoe has probably taken himself out. Reddick is still sort of in it but hasn't really shown anything lately.
Do Larson, Logano, and Blaney have anything for Toyota over the next 3 races at the 1.5 miles? Kansas is going to be very telling.

Great decision. And announced on Mon vs later in week - normally penalties or none announced Tue or Wed.

Blaney came off very level headed and said the incident is on both of them equally. I enjoyed the conversation discussing Hocevar’s importance to the sport while also saying his disrespect to drivers off the track is a problem (6% off, 12% off). I agree with them. There’s no need make light of the situation and rub it in those driver’s faces by doing something like that.

When speaking with Ryan Blaney on his podcast, Actions Detrimental, Denny Hamlin explored why Carson Hocevar agitates the rest of the garage, and it goes beyond his aggressive driving style.
He noted how nonchalant attitude after most of these incidents, and how Hocevar quickly put a 6% discount for six hours on his merch after wrecking Brad Keselowski at Darlington, and then a 12% discount for 12 hours after wrecking Blaney at Bristol.
"It's the off track stuff of like, hey another 6% off or another 12% off. To me, that would bug me. If that was me and he runs an 11% discount after he just crashed me, that would bother me as much as the on-track, and the on-track really hurts because I put so much work and effort into this. I don't want someone out there just being nonchalant playing a game at my expense."

Legacy Motor Club announces it has hired former Brad Keselowski crew chief Jeremy Bullins to crew chief for Riley Herbst in 2027.

NASCAR reminded crew chiefs this week to tell their drivers that their vehicle is not permitted to make contact with the wall during the winner's post-race celebration. This is not new directive as NASCAR has said this previously, just a reminder.

Ausitn Dillon crew chief Richard Boswell will move to VP of Competition at RCR after this season. Dillon's crew chief for 2027 is TBD.
Art Trejo, who joins the team from SpaceX, will be the Director of Development and Innovation.

Colton Herta will not return to IndyCar for 2027 as he rejected an approach to drive for Chip Ganassi Racing.
The American will likely do extra FP1 sessions with Cadillac in 2026 and 2027 to get his superlicense points.
Herta is also not expected to do another year in F2 and will likely be Cadillacs reserve driver for 2027.

Suspected CTE too. Sad … some people love him, some people don’t but DW is an absolute legend in this sport and it wouldn’t have been the same without him. At his absolute best he was as good as anyone who ever did it.

I actually miss him in the booth. To me he was one of the best booth ex racers. Added excitement sprinkled with knowledge and delivered in a very witty way that informed and yet was funny at times.
Now all we get are clones of each other. One talks like a viewer has never watched a race nor driven a car in their life. And hangs his words which I hate. The other has the same exact voice.
DW is missed in the booth. Hope he takes care of his ailments, but I don’t think there are any remedies

From 79-87 he was the best in the business and that includes Earnhardt. Just an absolute terror. He's a top-5 driver all-time.

This is a huge part of why I don’t watch much anymore. We didn’t know how good we had it in the early 2000’s.

Larry Mac still knew the cars inside and out
Darrell was still Jaws, just it was now his job
Then on NBC, you had Bestwick, another legend in Benny Parsons who was a little aloof (but not bad), and then Dallenbach who while not very successful as a driver, was a solid commentator.
Now I just feel like I’m talked to like they’re trying to sell me on a new sport, but it’s actually been around 75 years.
