I know its only day 1 and the other competitors haven't run... but pretty funny the RB and Merc performed like the internet gossip around the engine metallurgy claimed they would...
I’m surprised the Ford engine didn’t fail. Also surprised it didn’t sound like a tractor.

why is that? Doesn't Ford have the most F1 victories by a large margin?

No. Even the ones they have are more Cosworth than Ford.

Do they have both cars at the track or just one?

RB second seat curse is still alive.

No kidding! Wouldn't surprise me to see them throw Lindblad in the fire before the year ends.

Both... Max ran today and led with a 119.578... Next closest was Leclerc at 120.844

It was only RB and Ferrari out today.

From my understanding, teams are only allowed to use one car and can only drive it 3 of the 5 days. Positive note, two days to repair the car before their final day of testing on Friday since they ran yesterday and today.

Correct. They're sharing a chassis so as you said it's good to run early in the week in case you need an extra day to get replacement parts from the factory. Spares are going to be in severely short supply.

F1 teams have privately rented the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, used for the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix, for five days this week (Jan. 26-30).

Each team will be able to field one car on any three of the five days in Barcelona, and teams can complete as much mileage as they want within the allotted on-track hours.

That’s the article I was talking about as well. Able to read it through my monthly Apple One Premier subscription I have for my family’s iCloud storage/AppleTV/Apple News(which I use the hell out of)/etc.

ETA: not that exact article
But the point still stands about having access to a bunch of quality news sites that are normally paywalled

If red bull only showed up with parts to make one car then they are fricked on planning.

Ouch. Either way I’m sure that’s not great for them.

Hadjar has a tendency to start seasons in the wall literally. He’ll be alright.

Morning Summary of Day 3 of Testing in Barcelona

-Cadillac has not yet gone out on track, some report that it will go out later; others that it won't because they have problems.

-Red Bull will not go out today due to Hadjar's crash. They hope to have the car ready before Friday.

-Audi with Hülkenberg at the wheel caused the first red flag, it got stranded in the middle of the track and had to be towed away. It only did 5 laps and didn't go out again.

-The second flag was caused by Bearman's Haas, which also stopped. It did return to the track afterward.

-McLaren made its debut in the test with 33 laps.

-Mercedes, Alpine, Racing Bulls are the others that have run. The first with the highest number of laps (93) and the best time with Russell.

-Ferrari another one that won't run today.
