Cannot wait to watch the train wreck this morning. Seeing the drivers comments after all the negative buildup about this track makes it almost certain there are going to be issues.

And another one in the wall
In other news, Herta was P5 in practice

This track doesn’t look as bad as they made it seem. A lot of walls but the cars look fast.
I think I read the other day that Kyle kirkwood is eligible for a super license now and Herta is not. Kyle has probably had the better Indy car career.

I liked it. Have no clue where they are on the track at any time.

F2 cars are really struggling with this track

Herta ends qualifying with a crash

I mostly just listened to FP1 but it was fairly uneventful. Hope everyone has the suspension arms built for battle this weekend. Lots of curbs and walls.

It seemed the F1 guys were being cautious after seeing the mayhem of F2.

FP2
Lindblad was having a spectacular session, up to P4.
Then he flew too close to the sun...

I think Lindblad sees this weekend as a huge opportunity with this being everyone’s first time at this track.

High banking turn is pretty cool

They kept getting in the way even on the big arse corner.
Lando’s gearbox blew up spectacularly.

I wouldn't read much into that. That's on the higher end, but not anywhere near the most. New track and traffic will cause lots of deletions. Portimao had 125 deletions during one practice session. Austria is notorious for deletions.

Also a street course with chicanes will encourage people to get fully off the track for faster traffic.

Just watched Kimi's onboard... that track is fricking insane
Its like someone said "lets make a Monaco, but 3 times faster and every turn has double chicanes"
What the hell were they thinking?!
This is garbage... zero passing areas, the straits aren't strait, and the pit lane is entirely too big... i don't see the fans enjoying this parking lot/single file display

Yeah, the drivers have done better than I thought theey would on the track, Does soemone try to pass on the banked curve?
WTH happened in P3, just turned on and the PIT ws closed with 13 min left and 90% of the drivers were over a min behind on timing with a number not even having times?
Was Hamilton's incident, even though they haven't said a red originally that didn't keep the clock running?

Bearman with a big crash
2nd red flag of this session
They didn’t stop the clock for Hamiltons incident for a while

Just saw, Hamilton being a dumbass. Should have never tried to get back to the PIT.
He fricked not only himself, but a lot of the other drivers with that stunt.

“ Teams have encountered a MASSIVE degradation in Madring
?? They're losing around 2-3 tenths per lap. Way above Pirelli's expectations
?? Toto Wolff said that if the race had been yesterday it would have been SIX stops
?? An evolution of the circuit is expected to mitigate this, but they don't know how much”
