Remind me again. Straight mode is the active aero? They still get additional battery from the 1 second rule, right?
DRS was usually on the grid straight, if I remember correctly, and it was basically useless. You never reached top speeds, so DRS was never an advantage.

Straight mode is when the front and rear wings open. They have a rule where it can’t be used unless it can be open for 3+ seconds.

They should almost delete the moveable bits on the front and rear wings to save weight then.
At least the fronts to save money if it gets broken off.

It was a bigger advantage on tracks that required a lot of downforce than it was on faster tracks

It's going to be a bloodbath for Kimi and George. I wouldnt be surprised if they both want it so bad they take each other out.

Probably not worth it in a cost cap world to develop a stationary wing. Also with minimum weights they would just have to add the weight back somewhere else which is beneficial to optimize where you have extra weight but not as big of an impact as dumping it all together.
