Honestly, prob a blessing that Saudi got cancelled with the clipping issue that wouldn't have been solved beforehand. Course is fast and narrow. Almost certainly would have seen something bad.

They have devised a way to fix the starts. If you have a bad start just let the electrical power kick in and away you go.
They are looking into penalizing teams that activate this on purpose

Tombazis: F1 “cannot be hostage” to manufacturers over future engine rules
F1 has coveted the engine manufacturers because they bring more money into the sport, both as suppliers and as sponsors. But there's so much money around F1 now, I don't think they are critical.
The fans don't give a shite if the powerplants are made by Cosworth and Ilmor. The manufacturers can choose to be title sponsors as a pure marketing exercise, like Aston Martin and recently Alfa Romeo. They can even choose to be suppliers, but not with so much leverage. Their demands are obviously hurting the sport.
Bring back the NA V8!
Most of us would vote for V10s but that doesn't seem to be on the table.

Like was posted earlier, the manufacturers say they only need 16 months to develop a new engine. 2028, here we come

N/A V8 would be fine with me. I’m too young to know about 10s or 12s at this point.
I’d be OK with a hybrid/KERS situation too.

We'll probably end up with a turbo V8 and KERS with a battery.
The weight to power ratio makes sense with that setup. Not sold on them abandoning the V6 platform though. The auto manufacturers pump billions into these teams. Without their backing the teams will collapse.

If I’m Ferrari I’m putting a bigger turbo on. Their start advantage is evaporating.

Yep. That seems like a kick in the dick for them.

Cadillac has been better than expected
Early season predictions had them 4-5 second a lap behind.
They have also show progress.
It is a well-run organization and they are headed the in the right direction

RE: start procedure
How long until teams figure out how to manipulate and get the extra battery off the line like they were with the ramp down at the end of flying laps

If they cancel this weekends race because of weather and we have to wait another 3 weeks I’m gonna go crazy.

Saw that there is the potential of bad storms right about red lights... but we are also 4 days out and its Florida. Will likely change, but if it did get cancelled, you talk about a kick in the nuts for F1... would be 7 weeks between races with already plummeting viewership.
I won't be missing anything since they are hiding it behind a paywall and I cancelled AppleTv at this point.
2.1m viewers last year for the race, no chance in hell Apple sniffs anywhere close to that.
