People bag on NASCAR for manipulating races, and rightly so. F1 is doing much the same thing with mandated pitstops and DRS.
Not the same thing.
The fact that they mandate 2 pits stops vs 1 at this one classic race is nothing compared to the shite nascar has done over the years.

I have been wondering if some cars would just pit immediately to get the stops out of the way. Bernie just said that may be a legitimate strategy.

I like the 2 stop requirement. Monaco is all for show, but makes it fun to throw some chaos in.
Honestly could take the race out as a true points race and make it more of the All Star type thing for F1.
Interesting hearing analysis that some drivers are going to PIT on lap 1 to get one of them out of the way and quickly follow back up to the pack.

I just love watching them qualify in their actual cars. If this 2 stop trick doesn’t fix the parade then they could switch to carts for all I care. Or turn on the sprinklers.

Or if they make it more of an exhibition, do some sort of bracket style tourney...
4 brackets of 5 cars each in a sprint race format and keep the top 2 from each and then consolidate down to 8 for the final race.
Winner gets more tunnel time or chance to punch Lance in the face

Race the Lego cars. Last one running wins.

First time in a long time I’m excited prior to Monaco starting.

Hoping Lewis pits on the first lap and then tries to hold a delta to Lando. Just to mess with him.

Hope lando wins it and gets some of his mojo back and hope the strategy makes the rest of the pack interesting.

Nice variety of hards and mediums.
Yuki is the only guy on softs. Sainz is on hards, so Yuki needs to get past him.
Obviously Yuki is going for a early pit strategy, as well as the guys in the back on medium tires.

Perfect situation for the four guys who pitted.

Really thought I swapped out Doohan last week and just noticed I didn’t. FML

How is gasly still driving that so well lmao
Posted on 5/25/25 at 8:16 am to HammerheadLincoln
Lol at Monaco gasly could have held onto his position
Posted on 5/25/25 at 8:17 am to HammerheadLincoln
Seems like the drivers have told FIA to frick off and driven cars home all weekend.

Hard to defend gasly here, maybe the light and didn't realize Yuki was there
