Cleveland, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Detroit…

I would say 4 of the Top 5 “Must See” cities for any international tourists coming to the U.S. for their first visit.

(The other Top 5 city being Sacramento).

Detroit is a cool town to visit - hit up some Red Wings and Tigers games during the draft weekend! Delta has a direct flight there from MSY too.

When the “pick is in” is announced, it will just be gunfire in the same cadence

Agree. Everyone gives it a hard time but the actual city core is easily walkable and pretty safe. From the river walk (south) to the stadiums (north) and from the Greektown entertainment district (east) to the MGM Grand (west) is a 30 minute walkable radius.

Along with baseball and hockey they have two casinos and a bunch of sports bars near the stadiums and arenas. Detroit has enough going on for a fun weekend.

What a bizarre choice. Detroit doesn't even have an NFL team

New Orleans seems like a great place to have this down in the French quarter and along bourbon street.

But we know at some point during the broadcast shots would be fired.

This is correct. No need for it to barnstorm around the US. It had a home, there was nothing wrong with it. You could easily plan a trip, if you wanted to. Now...you need to wait and see where it's going to be held...and hope it's not Detroit.

It was announced two years out. Plenty of time to plan a trip.

I would like to see Walt's old house. And the nipperheads too.

To Detroit? One must train for years in the dark arts to descend upon that city. Jared Goff will tell you.

I'm cool with it going to different cities.

What I would change, is go back to the old format with the rounds. Personally I was a fan of the marathon coverage back when it was Saturday and Sunday only.

It has been a minute, but I survived Detroit plenty of times during my time in Ann Arbor, and there are things to do, though I would guess the draft might be held in Bloomfield Hills. DIA is a good museum as well. Cedarland Restaurant in Dearborn is one of my all time favorites for Middle Eastern food.
