Yeah the replay showed at the start of the race Colapinto zooming by Perez at the pit lane exit. Very strange.
I guess Perez's answer was serious, he literally was trying "to be as far back as possible, for as much clean air as possible."

Nascar does so much wrong, but would fine them points for doing this. Its whats wrong with F1. Its manufactured finishes. I get the team concept but in the race it should be outlawed.

F1 is much more of a team sport so team tactics make sense.
When the VCARB/Red Bull relationship comes into play on race day...that's another issue.

Nascar is nothing but major teams, with 4 car garages. They help each other all week but once the flag drops its everyone for themselves. F1 its hard to give credit sometimes because not all points were earned they were given via team orders. Is that really racing or just manufacturing an outcome like this morning?

Max was on a cooldown but was Russel on a hot lap?

Both on cooldown laps. Max was trying to creat a gap to the driver in front him just like everyone else. George was trying to maintain a minimum speed delta and came up on max fast. George could have just slowed down like everyone else on the track.
