Tennis isn’t just one tournament at the end of the year. If you did straight seeding, you would have the same exact guys playing for months at a time

Women may go 4/4 in quarterfinals with someone losing a set 6-0

That is one of the most boring and quietest center court night matches I’ve ever seen.

Vonderousava seemed to wake up the last game though.

I feel like a lot of times a little bit later in the tournaments it tends to be a little quieter with more normal fans being priced out.

Kinda anticlimactic but better than the first set.

0/9 on break opportunities...that's brutal, and 0/5 in the 3-4 game. Wow, women's tennis is such a different animal from the men's game.

Sabalenka is going to destroy Keys in about 45 mins if she plays anything like she did in that second set.

More physical than Nadal?

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. Go back and watch some young Rafa. It was like he was trying to rupture every tendon in his body on every point.

Nadal tried to be as physical as possible when he was younger, yes, but Shelton is more physical than he was. It’s insane the power and spin he produces from really using muscles

We’ve never seen a tennis player that has the physicality and size of Shelton while still having flexibility and speed. Will be interesting to see how he puts it all together over time

Perhaps we aren’t agreeing on what the term “physical” means. Shelton is a much larger man than Rafa, but that’s the only way, imho, that his game is more physical than a young Nadal.

It would be nice if we can get another slam winner.

Nadal was extremely physical, it’s the reason I used him to compare with Shelton. I just believe Shelton is even more physical than he was.
