it's very obvious that the result of the memphis game yesterday was just not considered whatsoever

Outside of some really rare circumstances (say Vandy wins the SECT) most of the Sunday results don't matter. I think this has been proven over the last few years where there seems to have been one or twoSunday games that should have impacted seedings but didn't.

Even then the committee probably has contingencies built in based on Saturday semi-finals.

The Sunday games wrap-up too late for the committee to see how they shake out before building the bracket. They can massage it a little, but when conference finals are ending an hour or two before the brackets are announced...those thing are pretty final and already getting packaged for broadcast.

it's just fricking stupid that kansas' final on saturday night "matters" and houston's on sunday doesn't.

Or that A&M gets punished all because we have a coach who went "what the frick" last year

BAMA isn't the number one overall seed without Sunday's results. If TAMU had won they would have gotten that 5th seed.

Can someone explain this to me and make it make sense?

How does the NCAA seeding committee determine which 6 seeds get play in winners? It never has made any sense to me. Why are Iowa St. and TCU playing play-in winners while Kentucky and Creighton aren't?

Sure it is. Even for TAMU. Before the SEC schedule, the aggies did enough OOC damage to be totally forgotten. Every ounce of bracket cred has come from the SEC side of the schedule.

If TAMU could have added SEC Tourney Championship on to their resume they get at least a 5th.

Getting blown out by BAMA wasn't what the committee wanted to see.

I'll make one prediction. Alabama will underperform. Brandon Miller will be a tremendous distraction once the media arrive on the scene. When you only have 48 hours between games having to deal with something like that affects your preparation. Also every game they play is going to be a road game. It is normal for fans of other teams in a pod to root for an underdog against a #1 seed. It is even more normal for everyone who is not an Alabama fan to root for the team playing against a #1 seed who appears to be allowing an accessory to murder to play the most important role on their team. Absolutely no one outside the state of Alabama is going to cheer for this team. Miller is still just a freshman and this is going to be a whole different experience for him and their coach does not have the experience to handle a situation like this. This is very close to Dave Bliss at Baylor territory. I don't give a damn about the matchups between Alabama and any particular team they face. That isn't the issue or the point. The point is the matchup between Alabama on the court and Alabama off the court. Sooner or later Alabama off the court is going to win that matchup.

Alabama is playing in Birmingham and Bama fans have bought more tickets than everyone else playing there combined. They beat a 1 seed, 7 seed, two 9 seeds, and an 11 seed in true road games this year. Your post is classic wishcasting

So much science to discuss.

Does everyone else also get only 48 hours between games? And if you can't be at home it's good to be just up the road. Like B'ham. And I'm pretty sure it's a road game for everyone else.

Who is "everyone"? Do you mean all of America? Sorry dude but the only folks sitting their fannies in the stands will be fans of the opponents in that bracket. No more or less than what BAMA just witnessed in Nashville.

The great players and team would rather play on the road. Nothing like shutting up the masses. Miller has done nothing but excel and when this first came out he had 41 points in SC and the game-winner to boot. He was just named SEC Tourney MVP. Hold your breath for all this.

I don't give a damn about the matchups between Alabama and any particular team they face.

But BAMA gives a damn and at this point, it has become so personal with you that you just sound like another moron on the rant just ranting at the moon.

They put the bracket together Friday/Saturday. They’ve said as much, and then they make contingencies based on someone stealing a bid. Winning a single game wasn’t going to jump us two seed lines, that’s simply not how the process works. We were almost certainly locked in as a 7 before the SEC tournament and there’s nothing that was going to move it

They also said they have a contingency for the teams playing on Sunday. Do you really think BAMA is the #1 overall seed without Sunday's results?

Yes

Every time they discuss the process they reiterate that they don’t make big movements based on a single game, they view the whole season etc.

Is your opinion they purposely deceiving people by saying this? And why?

The chairman said they have a contingency plan for Sunday on Sunday with CBS sports. What deception?

You still haven't answered the question. Would BAMA be the number 1 overall seed without Sunday's results?
