The Dinger looked sharp today. Dialed in. Even after getting spun. Too many drivers who can’t handle the course will take him out down the stretch to get ahead though

I’m interested to see how some of the guys handle the road course without stage breaks. A lot of the drivers now haven’t raced a full Cup race without the preplanned cautions . It’s should cool to see who can and can’t handle it.

Was nice not to see a flag at ending. Dinger drove his arse off that car had lots of damage and due to track position being so important they couldn’t really do much during pit stop to fix.
I like this course its very demanding and only takes one corner to ruin a lap which Byron had hapoen on last lap. Also like the no stopping for stages, they need to do that for all tracks not just road courses.
Also noticed Labbe got a great finish filling in for suspended JW. And at end of telelcast they showed a fan with his “park it” tshirt.
I do wonder how much toll it takes on Dinger and others racing Sat and Sun. I heard Rowdy had blisters, imagine how that feels today doing even more laps.
I think road ringer Taylor in 9 car today has a real chance to finish top 5 if not taken out on a restart in turn 1.

I think the ringers are going to have good days. Kimi is in a good car, Button is basically in a SHR car, Taylor in a top 5 car.
Probably the best shot for a ringer since when? Not counting Almendinger.

Very possible. Taylor is racing a top flight car. Normally ringers don’t get the very best cars so there is a good chance. But drivers don’t like others taking wins.
What happens if Taylor does win? He isn’t eligible for playoffs but takes a slot someone else may have needed. However it would qualify 9 car for owners title. Nascar likely throws a late flag if a driver like Taylor looks to have the win in hand
I’d love to see Taylor win but my guess is he gets roughed up by regulars in turns (so easy to spin someone out in corners and not look too intentional)
