Tony Stewart’s glowing helmet is pretty slick.

SRX was supposed to go to Thunder Road Speedbowl next week, which is in Vermont. However, flooding in the area has already prevented that and they’ll be back at Stafford next week.

RIP Davey.

Dale Sr was on record saying that had both him and Tim Richmond had lived that he wouldn't of won 7 titles.

Talent recognized and respected other talent. He knew.

I wonder if Tony could convince Dale Jr. to run one of these races in the future? Not the whole six race season, just one race.

I'm sure he can. They are very good friends.

Who's the chick?

ETA: That's Nicole Briscoe. Long a favorite of mine....

Damn, Newman was charging, too.

The weather just refuses to give races a break this month.

Watched the other night. Newman was always my favorite. Smart-arse with a college degree was someone I identified with when I started watching NASCAR. Hate Denny, so I wanted to see him lose.

Watching my first decent chunk of an NBC race today. Really like the knowledge Letarte brings. Also, I did not see Junior becoming a relatively well-spoken good contributor coming. I’d rather a Dale and Junior desk than what I saw of a Dale and Daugherty desk a few weeks ago.

Relatively?

I think he was fantastic right out of the gate.

He absolutely has. I'm commending him for preparing for his life after racing to the extent that he clearly has.

I distinctly remember him being interviewed before or after a Daytona race 15 years ago or so, and his accent was so thick, that I couldn't understand a word he said. It sounded like someone learning to play a banjo for the first time.

He still sounds like a hick.
