My thoughts on Chase/Denny
Denny roughed him up a few times prior. Chase hits the wall on this try. Denny deserved some payback, however, not at this time.
Chase clearly wrecked him. Chase was smart to not admit it. His car is smashed up so its harder to suspemd/fine. Will telemetry win out? He can claim his wheel was off and thought he needed to turn it to keep off wall (if it was off center).
Although Chastain has deserved to be parked for his many intentional wrecks, he wasn’t. Bubba was because he assaulted Larson on live TV.
I think Chase deserves to be parked for one race.
But Denny is a sniveling snitch too. He posted this on Twitter:
“Removing all doubt. His steering came back to the exact same position it had previously after we came off the wall.
The higher the line on steering the further LEFT it’s going.”
What a whus. Did you forget when you intentionqlly wrecked Chase in Richmond and cost him the win? Of course now you turn inro a whiner. Let Nascar decide what to do, by whining to the world you might actually help them not suspend him. You are trying to force their hand and Nascar hates to be backed in a corner based on history.
Chase is one of the cleanest drivers in Nascar. But after getting knocked around he finally had enough. Wrong move, but I think thats what happened. All race he was giving up spots and being respectful. Then he gets track position and wants the same, but whiner Denny roughed him up twice prior amd in 3rd try it triggered Chase. Chase should have saved it for another race to payback and for that he deserves suspension because a SS is not the place to do so.
Congrats to Blaney. Really cool to see crowd cheering him. He was emotional too, it meant a lot.

I think I commented on your heel comment before, and it's a perfect description.
When he came out for driver intros at North Wilkesboro, he did the crying-eyes gesture when he got boos. He could gain fans if he didn't do that shite.

IMO at some point he’s going to get some sponsor heat.

Or MJ is gonna have to have a come-to-Jesus w/him.

Sponsor heat will facilitate that.

Bubba Wallace said the exchange with Aric Almirola was just passion and he wasn’t surprised at Almirola’s shove: “When you walk around with two faces, that’s what you get.”

I saw that video a few minutes ago where Wallace said that about almirola. He doesn’t help his case at all.

Has Almirola ever been known to be an a-hole about anything? I'm inclined to not believe Bubba's version of events.

Bubba used to seem like a cool, relaxed guy like Blaney. After 2020 and all that went down in that season, his attitude changed. He now has a constantly sarcastic attitude. He seems to want to be a villain, but then complains when treated like a villain. Even when he is blaming himself, he’s sarcastic about it. He needs to go back to being a cool, relaxed guy.

Good God … it’s time for MJ to have the talk.

Take this as you will but there’s lots of Twitter talk … and Bubba’s backers are just as vocal tonight as his detractors … that there’s longtime bad blood between them, way before tonight, over Almirola losing and Bubba getting the Petty ride in 2018.

Definitely interesting, but still doesn't make sense that Almirola, of all people, would hold a grudge that long, and then lash out tonight.

Hoping Allgaier wins tonight, but Gibbs looks really fast.

The 20 is apparently fast too.

Agreed. I think the speculation though was that just they don’t like each other and they happened to get into a snit tonight where it manifested itself. Like I said, take it as you will. But IMO Bubba was way out of line and overreacted to what again struck me as minor contact. You race in this league, you’re gonna get rubbed. If you can’t handle that, you need to reassess where you are.
I’ve gone against the grain and taken up for the guy here. Not happening tonight.

Illinois boy and JR Motorsports with the night win!

Allgaier into the grandstand like Newgarden and Blaney.

Algier somehow saved enough to get JMS their first win of season. Loved the fuel suspense without a yellow flag.
Back on Denny/Chase. I’m on record Chase needs to sit a race. I could see Nascar not able to “prove” it due to car too wrecked and not wanting to solely trust data to make a decision. Lets be honest, Chase has cuased a ratings bump since he came back and no doubt Nascar will factor in. But its best for sport if they suspend him so they can shake favoritism label.
As for Denny and his whining tweet. He just needs to look in the mirror. Lets look at a few of his intentionals
He harrased Chastain for a whole race and never got suspended. Took him out earlier this uear no suspension. Nascar is forcing themselves in a corner via Bubba suspension last year, and may have to decide how to police 1.5 and higher tracks. Had this happened on 1 mile then what? Its a slippary slope as they try to be fair it will hurt the rivalries as well. Compare to Chastain who has wrecked cars all year long until now, as his owner told him to stop. Do you suspemd Chase over 1 wreck vs not someone over many wrecks.
I still say suspend Chase based solely on what Bubba got. However, if Bubba got it for the assault and not the wreck then no. But I can’t recall they specified and that sets up a key decision now.
