Ten years ago today was Michael Schumacher's skiing accident.

Good wishes to the Ferrari GOAT and his family: Corinna, Mick, Gina-Maria, Ralf, Sebastian, Rolf, and Elisabeth.

Just checking in to say it’s about time for the 2024 thread to get cranked up. LFG!

Business Owner On Formula 1 Race Impact On Las Vegas: "We As A Community Got Bamboozled, We Got Fooled"; Businesses Ask Clark County, LVCVA, F1 For Compensation For Revenue Losses -
@LVSportsBiz

From the article:

quote:

“We don’t need the F1. The F1 needs us,” Jay’s Market owner Wade Bohn told LVSportsBiz.com Wednesday. “We want to be compensated for the losses that occurred due to everything F1, the county and the LVCVA did.”

Bohn said the Formula 1 race caused his store’s 2022 revenue of $8.5 million to drop to $4.2 million-$4.3 million in 2023 because customers could not gain access to his business at 109 East Flamingo Road.

“We believe the county is responsible. They’re using taxpayer dollars to bring F1 into town. When F1 went before the county, they promised they would not be a hinderance, that they would be a part of the community,” Bohn said.

“What they did was they came in, tore everything up, ran the race and got the hell out of dodge. . . If this (the business loss) happens again next year I will be out of business one hundred percent.”

For how many weeks/months were customers not able to gain this access?

For some it was quite a bit of the year.

Give Bernie Collins a better mike and more air time. That woman knows her shite and knows how to present the information so it's understandable.

Same with James Vowles when they interview him but I hate his take on F1 adding more teams so he's a double-edged sword.

So glad we have F1TV and multiviewer. Half of Sky's team annoys the shite out of me. I'd be fine with Crofty, rotating Brundle/Hill/Rosberg, and Bernie for every race. I guess Ted can join, too. He's a good hype man, I guess.

Crofty is terrible and makes way too many mistakes to be respected. Kravitz can go to hell for his Team LH love.

So there were zero moves this offseason? Is everyone already locked into their 2024 seats?

I would like to get away from Mega threads like this...is there not a way to do a discussion thread for each race?

Personally I find the mega thread way more informative and easier to keep up with than a bunch of other threads to sift through. Plus there's so many other things throughout the season that are discussed that aren't just races. That's just my opinion though.

Just curious, what are the issues with a megathread?

2nd vote for a megathread. Lots of non-race items get discussed in here that don't need a separate thread for each little intertwined topic.

I like this big single thread as well.'

And what point does a thread become a mega thread and stress the database hamsters too much? 100 pages?
