Is this a reference to 2021? Where a safety car was properly used and the race restarted and not red flagged? Again, as it should be. Yellow flag and if you can restart then do so, if not then dont.

They had to red flag to clean up the accident. The situation was too dangerous in the wet.

The real problem is F1 inexplicably allowing tire changes under red flag.

Edit: I'm of the mindset that a red flag with restart is a better way to end the race than seven laps behind the safety car.

Agree with second point, disagree on first. They could have ended under a safety car.

Red Flag is purely for entertainment, for people who think F1 is a tv show.

I should probably be downvoted to oblivion for saying this, but earlier this year Danica Patrick made the point that racing ultimately is entertainment for the fans, and I found myself agreeing with her that the trend towards more red flags is a legitimate way to improve the show.

So why in the frick are we not racing?

F1 is so ridiculous with a wet track.

Speaking of, if F1 is so insistent on not racing on wet tracks when why don’t they invest in those big arse jet dryers like NASCAR uses?

They have to make a decision and give enough warning.

A combination of the wets and ground effect cars causing water issues followed by F1 still cautious after the Bianchi incident. Can not risk another incident with stewards on track and cars at any kind of speed.

Red flag rules should be consistent though. This race wouldn't have been a red flag if it was lap 20. See Sargent incident as proof.

They don't need to take 20 minutes to decide to give them a ten minute warning.

fricking ridiculous. Race director is afraid of his own shadow apparently.

Yeah the bianchi situation really curtailed the wet weather circus F1 used to be.

Not only tires, they can repair the damn car if it's damaged.
