Rubber match at Noon today. UC Irvine is preseason Top 20, so getting this series would be big for us.
We appear to be hitting the ball better than the past 5-6 seasons, which is exactly what you'd hope for out of a Matt Deggs team. Pitching overall probably isn't as strong as we're used to seeing from a Cajuns squad, though.

Lions missing their ace For a month but pitching still looked good. Defense is set other than left field. Whoever has the hottest bat should get that position. Hitting was sub par, even for selu. Don’t know if it’s the philosophy or coaching. However this year the non conference schedule gets much tougher, so I’m hoping our offense improves.

Our bullpen seemed to have a different look in their eye this weekend. Last year it was "shite, shite, shite, shite.... Whew, we hung on"
We'll see Wednesday. LSU is a different kind of animal at the plate. We should put up some runs, but I don't know how you contain an offense like that. I'm guessing that you can't, you just have to outscore them.

Yeah, this LSU team is going to score a shitton of runs this season.

Louisiana walks off Southeastern in the bottom of the 10th, 5-4. Umps were about as awful as you can imagine. First base ump rung up a Cajun and a Lion player who didn’t swing and then refused to ring up a guy who very clearly went. Home plate ump’s strike zone changed every batter. Just pure chaos. Fun game though.

The Love Shack is bumping and it’s 90% Tech fans. Ruston did an incredible job of maintaining a home field advantage. Outside of the Cajuns, im not sure anyone else could.
