Yeah no other car number has benefited by so many different successful drivers over the decades and usually have just one driver making up the bulk of its wins.

At the end of the day it’s a bit silly but the whole number thing is very interesting to me.

I enjoy seeing rare numbers race and seeing numbers win for the first time. Unfortunately with smaller fields and the charter system, they’re becoming less and less common at the track. I miss the large Daytona entry lists.

I thought the same when Martin win in the 77 car.
My racing fandom only goes back to about 2005 though so 77 may have history I don’t know about.

Looks like Harvick is stepping away after this season

Wow. Sad to see Harvick go. Not that I’m a huge fan of his, but now there are very few drivers from the Gen 4 days left.

Actor Frankie Muniz is racing full time in ARCA this year. He’s raced before so that may be fun to watch throughout the year.

Interesting note, he’s one of the last people to ever talk to Dale Earnhardt.

Yeah, I remember when he started. It's crazy what happens when you get old.

Yeah it's more nostalgia now for me. Crazy seeing the erstwhile "Gillette Young Guns" get old

It was coming in the next year or two. Regardless, it's gonna be sad to see him go. It'll be the end of an era.

I remember when he started, I was 19(20 that June) in 2001 when he took over Dale's car and I was two months from starting to date my now current wife. Crazy how time flies.

Dale Junior just brought up a great point regarding Harvick.

Junior predicts absolutely zero fricks will be given by Harvick this year and thats gonna be fun to watch

Kyle Larson to attempt Indianapolis 500 run in 2024.

NASCAR.com Article

P.S. I’ll be starting a thread for the new season in a couple of weeks once we get a little closer to the season. In the meantime, off-season news should be posted in this thread.
