Larson and Cindric now above the cut line.

Oh snap, if Bell wins he automatically advances and that could push Cindric back below the cut line.

Cindric gets spun, he’s out of the playoffs. Bell about to win.

Briscoe about to knock Larson out!

Larson is out of the playoffs. Briscoe and Bell both advance. Chastain manages to survive and advance, as well.

All because of a cardboard sign

How do you not screw those fricking things in?

Briscoe owes Custer something. Briscoe sent it into that chicane and then Custer threw some blocks for him.

The roval is the best course for the cutoff race.
That was crazy.
That was crazy.

NASCAR needs to look at Cole Custer’s actions on that last lap. Almost as bad as intentionally spinning to bring out a caution

He can simply argue that he was blocking to protect his own position. He wasn’t a lapped car or anything.

So was Larson in if Byron doesn’t get the points back?
Posted on 10/9/22 at 5:07 pm to Tigertown in ATL
Yes. Byron would have needed to win to advance.

That stinks. I like Larson despite who he drives for. I think Byron is an entitled puss.

NASCAR competition officials said that a last-lap incident involving the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford of Cole Custer in Sunday’s Cup Series race is under review.
Officials indicated that any potential penalties would not alter the Cup Series Playoffs field, which was trimmed from 12 title-eligible drivers to eight after Sunday’s Bank of America Roval 400. The details of the review were released in a NASCAR statement roughly an hour and a half after the race.
“NASCAR is reviewing data, video and radio transmissions from the 41 car following its incident on the backstretch during the final lap,” the statement read. “NASCAR will communicate the results of the review early this week. Any potential penalties would not affect the Round of 8 field.”
Custer finished 24th in Sunday’s race. SHR teammate Chase Briscoe placed ninth in the No. 14 Ford, sealing the last berth in the Round of 8 by a two-point margin over 2021 champ Kyle Larson. Officials were investigating whether Custer’s actions on the final lap, in which the car appeared to slow down, intentionally held up others and aided Briscoe’s bid to advance.
The No. 41 appeared to slow entering the backstretch chicane on the final lap, letting Briscoe’s No. 14 Mustang slip by to gain positions.

A damn sign is gonna determine this race and the next round of the playoffs
I was told by Chase haters here that Nastycar would never throw a yellow with him leading. So what gives haters?
And Chase owes Reddick a payback at some point, cost him the win when taken out.
Just like Indy the late race action is not about racing. Its bonzai moves left and right. Even Briscoe admitted he was making a move likely not to work but his teamate saved him. Thats not racing nor was half the pushing going on at end. It might spice up racing for fans and TV but its just a intentional wreck fest. No respect on the track.

They need to let the teams get back to old days:
Here's the specs the car HAS to have, you can do what you want with the rest.

BTW, regarding the sign:
So that sign had been there for 20 laps before NASCAR threw that caution that created the chaos at the end.
It’s okay for those cars to jumps concrete curbs/ramps multiple times a lap, but no way can they run over a flat piece of cardboard that apparently been laying outside the grove for a good while
