The new and improved Atlanta race track was a fun watch. It did have that superspeedway feel to it.
But I just have to say, there is something seriously amiss about Ross Chastain. He can't stop wrecking people. That number he did on Hamlin again yesterday was insane. The guy is so out of control that he's driving into the quarter panels of these guys. Does the guy have any depth perception? He had better start learning to lift. If he's not the second coming of Ironhead he's close.

A more apt comparison is Ernie "Swervin" Irvin. Even a couple of announcers have made that comparison

But that whole siren and Rutledge thing was some hokie arse shite
Anything involving Rutledge is hokie. They just need to cut him out of production because he brings nothing of real value to any broadcast he is in.

Amen. He is absolutely fricking terrible.

Looked at the points today. After doing so, Ipredict a change in the pts system after this year. Harvick in 11th and out of the playoffs and 6th other drivers in below him, isn't really a good look for Nascar. Almost as bad as when he won 9 races and didn't win the cup. The possibility of so many winners in a season has always existed, but I don't think nascar ever thought it would happen.

I agree on the points needing changing. It should be the top 16 in points advance. Wins, laps lead should get you bonus points.
What Chastain fails to realize is driver will get their revenge once the playoffs start. He will be wreaked out of the first round quickly.

The whole chase/playoffs thing was a reaction to Kenseth winning a championship without any wins anyway.

Should be all drivers with a win but not in top 15 race for best finish in last race before playoffs.best finish equals the 16th spot.

I can agree with that. Or maybe do top 5 race winners or multiple race winners. They'll be in anyway.
With Daytona being the last race before playoffs, how about you take the entire field not in the playoffs and give them a winner take all last spot in. Now that's a wildcard game.

Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin have pulled Tyler Reddick out from under Richard Childress for 2024. Wow.

Reddick to 23XI Racing in 2024
23XI has not yet said if they will add a third car or if Reddick will replace one of the current 23Xl drivers.

RCR doesn’t sound happy in their official statement on the Reddick news:

He had a win, it was just one win early in the season. Still an overreaction though.

Not sure I’ve seen an announcement like that, he’s not leaving for another 2 years.
Good pull for Hamlin and Jordan.

Has to be replacing Kurt

I figure that will probably be the case, with Kurt retiring after 2023. I don’t see why they would expand to 3 cars at this point. Give Kurt a swan song year next year and then Reddick takes over the 45 in 2024.

That’s what makes sense to me. Question becomes what happens to the 8? I saw somewhere they may pull Erik Jones or give Noah Gragson the bump up. Also saw Corey Lajoie may be going back to Petty.
Same thread said Spire sells the team. Likely to Jr.

Lajoie in top equipment would be very competitive IMO
