I am sad thinking about how they won't be racing at Daytona this 4th of July weekend. This is the third year of this change, and it still sucks.

The Championship he won during the COVID year with barely any fans in the stands? The Championship supports my point, he won't win another unless we go back to social distancing or just don't have fans there at all

What in the world does COVID have to do with going fast? The points distributed in every race are reinvented every year. What it took to win a championship last year was different from just a few years before that.

There is no end to all the creative ways that an average race car driver can win a championship over a dominant driver and crew. Congrats NASCAR!

I think I like it being in Road America this weekend though. Elkhart is a great place for a race. I mean US racing history has a ton of ties to the place. Plus it will be pretty good weather and we get free Lite Beer with our cheese.

Plus wasn't it at the Glen were Kes took out Larson for some unknown reason that nobody has yet to figure out, so road racing gets fun when drivers get pissy.

It sucks that it’s not July 4 weekend, but it’s also pretty awesome that it’s the last race to get into the playoff.

Yeah as much as I would love some new Intimadator merch I'm not giving the Wicked Witch of The South any of my $$$$$. frick. That. Bitch.

A few minor rulebook adjustments today (so minor that I'm not sure if they were already known or not). One is Atlanta will have superspeedway-style qualifying now (two rounds, one lap). Also the windshield wiper is no longer optional on road courses, it's required.

What Warrants a Caution in NASCAR?

quote:

Door Bumper Clear's TJ Majors, Freddie Kraft and Brett Griffin talk about NASCAR not throwing a caution for Brad Keselowski limping around the race track after making contact with Cole Custer on the final restart. Producer Jason Schultz references an article about NASCAR changing its procedure on throwing cautions and T.J. explains why they should have thrown the caution for the damaged No. 6 car.

Oh Look, I was right (Again)....

quote:

Let me ask the crowd this. Why does Nascar throw cautions in the first place? Safety. And Safety doesn't change based on what time of the day or night it is or how long we were in a red flag condition. It's the same, and it's why the call should always be the same. Nascar got lucky that nothing else happened (like another car spinning off the track and hitting the 6 at high speed), but that doesn't make the call right.

Edit: These Comments.

A tire shouldn't have to roll for nearly a whole straightaway for a caution to come out.

If Kyle Busch had been leading that race instead of Chase it is 100% a yellow flag. Golden Boy gets a different set of rules.

Only no yellow because of golden boy Chase Elliott leading. NASCAR officiating is so sad and pathetic

If people still thought Chase doesn't get special treatment after COTA last year I don't know what to tell you. Race should have been called when Ross was leading then. As soon as Chase is leading its too dangerous

The 3 Stooges have had their fun, now back to some actual NASCAR news:

Kyle Petty had a new son on Thursday, at the age of 62.

Big crash in the xfinity race after Gragson and couldn’t tell who got into it and looks like Gragson spun himself and a host of others in retaliation. Some hard hits, Brandon Brown is on the ground in pain, hopefully it’s just the wind knocked out of him.

Edit: it was Sage Karam, Gragson hooked him and everyone piled in.

Gragson just can’t get beyond his own immaturity. Every time you think he has turned a corner, he does something stupid.

Those were some hard hits, about as hard as you’ll see on a road course.

Gragson should be parked for that, btw.
