I was watching the race but at one point my attention was drawn elsewhere and when I came back I noticed Yuki was retired, so I tried to find out what happened on Twitter, and it was very interesting reading. I'll have to find YouTube clips of this sequence of events.

Did Yuki really Nelson Piquet Jr. the race?

Yuki leaving the pits was one of the strangest things I have seen

Once the leader has started the run it is open game.

So how is that judged? Just asking for technicality. What if Hamilton around the last curve went up from 50 to 60 for a split second then back to 50 prior to exiting the turn, is that considered a run?

Seems like it would be clear and black/white that it would be the start line

Probably some technical margin, but yeah brake checking isn't allowed.

Max's outside overtake on LH in Turn 1 was a majestic move - maybe the best of the season.

George decided he wanted P2 and took it.

What a race sequence...

Porsche needs to buy Alphatauri!

I’d imagine if they sell AT they’d want to sell it to someone who’ll be a RBPT customer.

If anyone is going to Austin, I just canceled an vrbo in del Valle for that weekend that was a great value.

How does F1 TV manage to always make these cars look slow?

Listening to Crofty yelling is starting to bug me.

Love the Dutch track with those high banks

Alfa Romeo has completely fallen apart.

BBC - But at the same time, they could not factor in what happened. Hamilton did not admit after the race, but he had made a mistake. He had the engine in the wrong mode at the restart. That's why Verstappen found it so easy to pass so soon - Hamilton was down on power.
This personal error almost certainly explains Hamilton's partly sweary outburst - he hates making mistakes.

Max was getting by Hamilton, could have been the first lap or the 7th, he couldn't defend against him on old mediums or new softs.

Not arguing against an engine mode error, but that wasn't his race once Max leap frogged George.

His only real chance was to somehow beat max out of the pits on new softs. He would have stood a chance but you rarely see a leapfrog in the pits unless you're Ferrari and anything is possible when they pit

Conspiracy theories

As Schmitz reveals, the NASA style room has been a game changer. “We can be listening to every team's radio, we can be watching every team's on-board footage, we can be looking at all the numbers in detail and have that passed onto the pit wall in seconds. It’s like being in the same room. There’s no delay.”
I didn't realize they had all the data from every team

There were too many laps left in the race for verstappen not to get past both Mercedes on softs. The Russell blocking strategy may have worked if there were 3 laps, not 12

They have a bunch of F1TV subscriptions.

The factories are packed on race day. They always have strategy and analysis going on. Think it is Mclaren that invites families of the workers to the factory on race day so they have some connection.
