My God Ferrari has a bunch of bone heads running it. Every week they do something that makes you scratch your head.

WTF happened to Mercedes? Weren't they supposed to come and challenge for race wins after the summer break?

yep, and Red Bull was supposed to be nerfed by the new flexi-floor directives.

I'd say wait to see the Merc race pace tomorrow before making a judgement, but they haven't been really killing it at any power hungry tracks.

Would have been nice to see some timing splits for Checo's last lap from the TV direction.

Realistically, Max will start 15th? Wil he make it all the way through the pack again? Looking possibly with these times.

Yea he's going to move up really fast.

Tomorrows start will be a good one to see. Max going to be making his way through the pack.

Yeah…if the flexi-floor thing is going to hurt RB or FER you’d imagine it’d be with a full fuel load.

Even as a Merc fan, I’m not holding my breath though.

Medland tweet....

I've just realised Bottas actually has 30 places of grid penalties in total - 15 power unit and 15 for gearbox - but as neither document says back of grid it means a P20 qualifying position +30 places = P14 on the grid

I would think so.

If you believe the deep state rumors that Perez was running the new setup for the last few races then that is where it showed.

only the FIA could make something so convoluted

Max is going to win from 15th isn't he? frick.

The last time I remember a car+driver combo having the pace to come back and win from that far back was Raikkonen+McLaren circa 2003, although that McLaren routinely blew up and didn't have the reliability to win the championship. God, that McLaren was a missile now that I think about it.

Verstappen is the betting favorite to win.

I think Perez can get ahead in turn 1 and Max will finish 2nd. Don't think they make them switch around. Alonso may try to make a move around the outside, but if the drivers are smart just push the person on the outside wide, it is now allowed.

If Alonso can somehow get in front we could some massive wrecks from him backing up the field.

Albon has shown great pace the last few weeks. Happy to see Williams on the rise.

Should be a great race tomorrow with the penalties and resulting starting grid.
