If the cars can follow close like they have been we should see some really good fights, maybe even some non-drs passes.
Note about Silverstone, it is one of the few (maybe only) where an advantage can be gained on the last lap of the GP by going through the pits.
Rules dictate that anyone who doesn't finish on track is referred to the stewards, but there is no actual rule that says you have to finish on track.
Schumi finished in the pits in the late 90's, he was given a 5 second penalty, so on the last lap he went into the pits, served his penalty, then got out the car with the win.
A couple years ago Hamilton didn't enter the pits to finish even though driving on 3 wheels because of ambiguity (and probably drama) with the rule. He blew a tire on the last lap, but had a large enough lead (believe everyone behind pitted due to tire issues or fastest lap) he was able to limp around and win.

Damn, I forgot about that. I think I remember that Max regretted pitting for tires, otherwise he would have won. Several blowouts, not a good look for Pirelli. They probably blamed the teams again.

If I remember right the finding was that some teams were reversing the directional use of the tires for some advantage.
Pirreli originally was ok with this, but after Silvastun directed them no to do so because they believed the tires were unwinding.

It must be noted that we've had an unusual amount of street circuits to start the season - new F1 fans should be ready to see some the world's classic tracks starting this weekend.
This is the real F1.
Also, the throttle pedal cam is amazing. That, and the helmet cam, give the viewer the most up-close views of being a racing driver I can remember.
Get ready for an amazing racing weekend.

And yet it doesn't compare to when race cars had three pedals. However, in wet conditions it was interesting because IIRC, in low-speed corners, when Lando upshifted he lifted the throttle to maintain grip. He didn't have to do that upshifting in higher speed corners.

This track looks awesome. My first time watching this GP
I love Silverstone but I love Brits. I even love Crofty.

Merc rockin a new floor edge... and that side impact structure wing looks pretty refined... loving the sticky-downy bit
Did I see two bits of welded on raw metal on that “upgrade”?

Sainz having issues in the high speed corners still today for the prancing pony
Edit: looks like Max was sand bagging yesterday.

I wouldn’t hate it if Merc made it a 3 team race

Would be great just from forcing Red Bull and Ferrari to have to expand the scope of strategy to take them into account.

Same, the more competitive the better. RB does look like they are in a class of their own this weekend.

Have seen a couple claims of rain but not seeing any umbrellas.

To be fair I’m sure they have a strategy, the issue is it is either shite or they are shite at executing it.
Maybe if they didn’t take so much down time in Italy during the work week they could figure it out.
