Well deserved.
I think Checo is my favorite driver. Dude has been a great number 2 and also gotten results.
Sure he's in a badass car but that's not always a given as we have seen with Bottas and Sainz to some degree.

If DR gets dropped, what are the chances Gasly replaces him at McLaren?
New F1 fan here, but it seems Pierre would be a solid #2 to Lando if he can drive the car that Danny Ric seemingly can't get a hold of...and I thinking wrong? I've become a McLaren fan for a variety of reasons (would love to see Haas success, but man if the future doesn't look bleak there...) and I think I'd like to see a Lando/Gasly combo.

I get that bottas has earned his reputation of underperforming relative to his Hamilton, but what?
At Mercedes he finished 2nd in the standings twice, 3rd twice, and 5th once. Won 20 poles and 10 races in 5 years, many of them where all the actual contenders finished the race too.
Id actually be curious to see another known #2 driver that got better results.

Barrichello is probably the only modern day equivocal. Bottas was not a bad driver, I just always felt he didn't have the killer instinct needed.
When Bottas went to Merc I really thought he would push Hamilton as much, or more, than Nico had.

That was probably unfair, just meant there was some perception that he "underperformed" given how superior the car was considered vs the field.

Perez's status with RB is well earned. He has been the consummate teammate, wing man and is a seasoned veteran that drives well without using cheap/risky blocking tactics. He uses skill, instead.

I had heard Max talk about emotional and verbal abuse. I hadn't ever heard anything physical. I could have missed those interviews. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.
