Dodgers entering the final week before the deadline with seager and Kershaw on the IL, Bauer probably going to jail, still trying to figure out when mookie is coming back, and just lost muncy and turner in the same game

I'm not even mad. It's impressive

For the Cubbies I've seen rumors of Rizzo being sent back to Boston, Bryant to NYM (I hope with Mangum being in the package to Chicago), and Baez seems obvious but I don't think they'll get much for a guy like him who's trying to get a $200m contract. It seems like they will keep Contreaus since their system has shite the bed developing potential replacements. Ian Happ and Hendricks names have been out there too.

The one known is the team is willing to eat salaries in return for better prospects.

I don't think the Cubs move Rizzo or Baez they can resign both. Kimbrel, Bryant, Davies seem like the more logical moves

Cub fan here, since 1968. Need to move Baez. I know he is flashy and all that but we do not need to invest two hundred million in him. He struck out on 3 pitches the other night not one near the strike zone.

Bryant, goodby.
Rizzo love him but by.
Keep Ian Happ
See if someone wants Heywards salary. Cubs will chip in bag of balls.

Start drafting and developing Power pitchers. We have none. We traded Dylan Cease along with best prospect to Sox for a washed up left hander

Can't wait to see the Cubs settle on a package of prospects like the O's did with Manny.

The market is good for KB and Kimbrel. With that said, I'm sure Hoyer will screw it up.

The Tigers announced Friday that they’ve designated outfielder Nomar Mazara for assignment and optioned infielder Willi Castro to Triple-A Toledo. Outfielder Derek Hill and infielder Isaac Paredes are up from Toledo in a pair of corresponding roster moves. Detroit has also appointed lefty Miguel Del Pozo as the 27th man for today’s doubleheader against the Twins.

Someone (Yankees) will take a chance on Nomar

It doesn’t feel that long ago Mazara got that record deal as an international free agent. But it was 10 years ago

Yes, they do. Having a true 8th inning guy will help before the playoffs and during.

Yes, this! In 2019 we had Pressly and Osuna. We had 2 innings at the end where opponents were just shut down. We need another Pressly type.

Where does Story go? MLB trade rumors reports that as many as 6-8 teams are interested including the White Sox.

The Mets are one of the teams interested in Merrifield, MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports (Twitter link).  One source tells Heyman that it still seems “highly doubtful” that the Royals actually move Merrifield in any deal.
9:18AM: Teams have been trying to pry second baseman/outfielder Whit Merrifield away from the Royals for several years, and The Athletic’s Jayson Stark now reports that the Royals are “more open” to trading the two-time All-Star than they have been in the past.
