This was asked on page 4:

quote:

Any rumors on who the WFT is grabbing at QB? The Mariota rumors are dying. I saw a guy saying they are going after Winston or take a flyer on Darnold. I'm not crazy about either of those. But I would hate them picking up Tyrod Taylor or Bridgewater..

Draft Mac or Trask and let Fitzmagic run it for half a season.

12.5ish a year for Corey Davis is an awfully good deal

Is 50-650-3 worth 12.5 mil?

And Corey Davis was never heard from again.

Fitzmagic to the Skins

I’m not sure how I feel about this.

If he was the starter last year I think they win 9 or even 10 games last year.

With that said they faced a Cowboys team without Dak twice and have a first place schedule. I guess Fitz is the best QB on the roster now but that isn’t saying much.

They need another WR.

I am on the fence too. Fitzpatrick is better than anybody they have. So he'll be the starter and the team will be competitive (7-9 wins). But I really like the younger guys and want to see what they can do. I don't think they should draft anybody. They already have 3 young QBs and will have to let one walk for nothing..

Heinicke is 28 and Kyle Allen is Kyle Allen. They don’t have a third young QB on that roster. Heck they don’t even have two young QBs on that roster. They’ll draft someone. Likely Jones or Trask.

On the amount of targets he had, yes. He was always the #2 guy after Tannehill took over. I can easily see him breaking out in an offense that makes him more of a priority, unlike the Titans.

The funny money numbers are starting to come out about some of the deals that were made yesterday

quote:

WR Kendrick Bourne:  Max value: 3 years, $15m, plus $7m in incentives Full guarantee: 1 year, $5.25m  2021 cash: $5.25m to $7.5m 2021 cap number: $3.2m

quote:

DB Jalen Mills Max value: 4 years, $24m Full guarantee: 2 years, $9m 2021 cash: $5.5m to $6.5m 2021 cap number: $4.56m

quote:

DE Deatrich Wise: Max value: 4 years, $22m plus $8m incentives Full guarantee: 2 years, $10m 2021 cash: $6m to $9m 2021 cap number: $3.25m

quote:

Chiefs G Joe Thuney: Max value: 5 years, $80m Full guarantee: 2 years, $32.5m Practical guarantee: 3 years, $48m 2021 cash: $18.1m 2021 cap number: $4.5m

Remember to never try to calculate what the deals are based on average per year salary from the total value. Usually atleast 20-40 percent of these contracts are all fluff

And if the Jets want him to be "the man," they will be disappointed.

He had 2 years to figure it out and take over in year 3 with the Titans, and AJ Smith passed him up as the #1 from day one.

He could be one of the best complementary guys in the NFL. Put him on a passing team where he can be a strong #2 and he could feast. I doubt the Jets are that team.

they're definitely the most injured TE group.
