They wanted to make it more competitive and do away with the bump and run, but that was what people loved about Bristol were the bumps that turned into more than bumps.

I will simply never understand what in the actual frick they were thinking

Yeah I can't remember exactly what they did now, but it made the high line the fast line which is opposite of what it always was.

Progressive banking, more banking as you move up the track, gave the high line an advantage most of the time. Ruined what everyone loved about Bristol, horrible decision making

I didn't realize it was that long ago they did that. I've actually been to race there since then. Larson was killing it on the high line that day before he got in an accident.

Heat race was stopped after one lap due to track being too muddy. Windshields and grilles were covered in mud that quickly

They ground down almost all of the progressive banking 9 years ago but that obviously didn't make racing like it was. Maybe it was the resurfacing they did in 2007 or maybe it's the new cars, or both, but one way or another they couldn't get the single line racing back by restoring the configuration of the banking.

If you get a chance to see the replays of that one lap and the trucks coming down pit road, it was really bad. If you were up front, no big deal. Row 2 and back, you couldn't even see the truck next to you, much less the track.

I watched it earlier. It was BAD. And the rain today and tonight isn't going to help with tomorrow's attempt

How are they going to pull this off tomorrow? I was hoping to get to see some crazy racing.

shite from what I’m reading not only might it not be dry tomorrow but there’s a lot of rain forecasted for tomorrow too. Ppl saying it may be Monday afternoon before the track can handle it

I’ll read into it but I’m pretty sure they didn’t totally restore it back to how it was, I think they just reduced it

ETA: after reading it does look like they likely ground it all the way back down BUT they didn’t do away with the 3 extra feet they added to the width of the track in 2007 and believe it or not that can make quit a difference

There is significant flooding ongoing around Bristol Motor Speedway this morning, including in camp grounds. Really doubt there will be any racing there today.

I just hope they actually make the right decision early before people drive out there to complicate the problem.

Speaking of all messed up, did you see where Red Farmer's house got hit by the same tornado that hit James Spann's house.

LINK

Biggest news for me is that Red is still racing!

Me: "Hey Boss (cough-cough), that second flu vaccine shot hit me pretty hard so I won't be coming in tomorrow".

Boss: "You aren't scheduled for that shot until the end of the week".

Me: "Ummm..."
