And in a delicious bit of irony, Mike Clevinger...crusader against cheating, bastion of integrity was accused of cheating on his girlfriend 4 weeks after she had his child

Wut?

Why the hell should any of us give a shite if the guy cheats on his girlfriend?

Might make him an piece of shite, but that literally has nothing to do with baseball.

I guess Astro fans will be looking for anything and everything to deflect on their team cheating their asses off

I don't give a shite what Mike Clevinger does with his life. But given his own moral misgivings, maybe he's not the guy who needs to be giving pompous lectures to others about virtue. Far as I'm concerned, he and the high horse he rode in on can frick right off.

Haven’t heard any Chapman comments. Please share w the class.

Couldn’t throw a FB for a strike in his last outing. Sliders only.

The only thing buzzing was the ball off Altuve’s bat.

Mets have yet to call either John Gibbons or Buck Showalter. Both are candidates in Houston, as is Dusty Baker. Mets and Astros apeear to be generally shopping at different places.

There is a ton of surprise around the game about how the Astros players answered questions over the weekend about the sign-stealing episode and suspensions. Rival officials thought the players would've been well-served by at least some expressions of regret, contrition.

I need to update my public ballots thread.

Curious to see how many voters have voted for others in the past but knocked them off for Jeter only ballots this year.

Astros also have interviewed for their manager job in-house candidate Joe Espada, the team’s bench coach, in addition to the very experienced Dusty Baker, Buck Showalter and John Gibbons. They are moving fast.

True but Tom Glavine wore a Met's uniform, Verlander an Astros unfiform, etc.... so I don't have a problem with it if he resumes his HOF career.

Cards likely to extend Molina another year or two. He says he has 2 more in him, and he'll never play for another team. Will retire if Cards don't extend but ofc we will and are expected to early ST.

quote:

“I also said [two years ago] that if the Cardinals want me, that’s the only team I want to play for,” Molina said. “So it’s still like that, too, if they want me. But if they don’t, if they want to move apart, that’s it for me.”
